Stockpile (Japanese: たくわえる Stockpile) is a non-damaging Normal move introduced in Generation III.

The Pokémon who are able to learn this move are also able to learn the related moves Swallow and Spit Up, with all being able to learn both except Qwilfish, Munchlax, Trubbish, and Garbodor.
The Pokémon who are able to learn this move are also able to learn the related moves Spit Up and Swallow; except Snorlax, Munchlax, Trubbish, Garbodor, and Guzzlord, which cannot learn Spit Up, and Qwilfish, Dewpider, and Overqwil, which cannot learn Swallow.

Usually, when a Pokémon tries to learn Stockpile through leveling up, it will also attempt to learn Spit Up and/or Swallow immediately after.

Generation III
Generation III
Stockpile stores up energy for the user and has no secondary effect. The maximum number of Stockpiles the user can hold is three. If used after the third count, it will fail.
Stockpile stores up energy for the user and has no secondary effect. The maximum number of stockpiles the user can hold is three. If used after the third count, it will fail.

If Spit Up is used after Stockpiling, it will inflict damage according to the number of times Stockpile was used, and the Stockpile count will be reset. If Swallow is used after Stockpiling, the user will heal HP according to the number of times Stockpile was used, and the Stockpile count will be reset.
The moves Spit Up and Swallow inflict damage and heal the user based on the number of stockpiles, respectively, but also reset the stockpile count. Both moves fail if the stockpile count is zero.

Both Spit Up and Swallow will fail if Stockpile has not been used before selecting.
In this generation, Stockpile's PP is 10.

In this generation, Stockpile's PP is 10.
Stockpile can be used as the first move of a Pokémon Contest combination, causing Spit Up and Swallow to score double the normal appeal if used in the next turn.

Generation IV and on
Generation IV onwards
In addition to its previous effects, Stockpile gains a secondary effect of raising the user's Defense stat and Special Defense stat by one stage each after Stockpiling. Once the user has used Spit Up or Swallow, the increase in Defense and Special Defense are lost.

Once the user has used Spit Up or Swallow, the increases in Defense and Special Defense gained this way are lost.

In addition, Stockpile's PP is raised to 20.
In addition, Stockpile's PP is raised to 20.
Stockpile can be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, causing Spit Up and Swallow to give an extra three appeal points if used in the next turn.
If powered up by a Normalium Z into Z-Stockpile, the user regains all of its HP.

Stockpile causes the user to gain the Status condition (Mystery Dungeon) status condition. With this, the user stores energy (up to 3 times), which affects Spit Up and Swallow. This move is affected by Snatch and the Status condition (Mystery Dungeon) status condition

From the Explorers series, the move now increases the user's Defense and Special Defense by one stage for each Stockpile, reflecting the change present in the main series games. These Defense and Special Defense boosts are used up when Spit Up or Swallow are used.

Stockpile (Japanese: たくわえる Stockpile) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation III.

Effect

Generation III

Stockpile stores up energy for the user and has no secondary effect. The maximum number of stockpiles the user can hold is three. If used after the third count, it will fail.

The moves Spit Up and Swallow inflict damage and heal the user based on the number of stockpiles, respectively, but also reset the stockpile count. Both moves fail if the stockpile count is zero.

In this generation, Stockpile's PP is 10.

Stockpile can be used as the first move of a Pokémon Contest combination, causing Spit Up and Swallow to score double the normal appeal if used in the next turn.

Generation IV onwards

In addition to its previous effects, Stockpile gains a secondary effect of raising the user's Defense stat and Special Defense stat by one stage each after stockpiling. Once the user has used Spit Up or Swallow, the increases in Defense and Special Defense gained this way are lost.

In addition, Stockpile's PP is raised to 20.

Stockpile can be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, causing Spit Up and Swallow to give an extra three appeal points if used in the next turn.

If powered up by a Normalium Z into Z-Stockpile, the user regains all of its HP.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series

Stockpile causes the user to gain the Stockpiling status condition. With this, the user stores energy (up to 3 times), which affects Spit Up and Swallow. This move is affected by Snatch and the Muzzled status condition

From the Explorers series, the move now increases the user's Defense and Special Defense by one stage for each Stockpile, reflecting the change present in the main series games. These Defense and Special Defense boosts are used up when Spit Up or Swallow are used.
