Scorbunny is a rabbit-like Pokémon that has a predominantly white body with orange and yellow markings on its ears, toes, and neck. The markings on its neck resemble a collar. It has buckteeth, an orange nose and irises, black sclerae, as well as a yellow band shape across its nose, resembling a bandage. It has long legs with long feet and the same yellow band on its nose under each paw pad. It also has a small, white, poof-like tail.
Scorbunny is a rabbit-like Pokémon that has a predominantly white body with orange and yellow markings on its ears, toes, and neck. The markings on its neck resemble a collar. It has buckteeth, black beady eyes with orange accents, and an orange nose with a yellow band shape across it, resembling a bandage. It has long legs with long feet, and similar yellow bands under each paw pad. It also has a small, white, poofy tail.

Scorbunny loves to run and is filled with energy, and it can start small fires from underneath its feet. A warm-up run can cause the fire energy in Scorbunny to start coursing through its body, allowing it to fight at full power. The special pads on the back of its feet and nose can generate heat once it is ready to fight. By using its powerful legs, Scorbunny can run and jump around its opponents in order to confuse and disorient them. It is a rare Pokémon that is found more often under the ownership of Trainers. According to the anime, the soles on Scorbunny's feet are believed to bring good luck.
Scorbunny loves to run and is filled with energy. A warm-up run can cause the fire energy in Scorbunny to start coursing through its body, allowing it to fight at full power. It has a sac in its chest that contains fire energy, which it uses to generate heat from the special pads on the soles of its feet and nose, once it is ready to fight. The pads on Scorbunny's feet can get so hot that it is capable of using them to start small fires and burn opponents with a kick. The footpads of Scorbunny can deal heavy damage to opponents. It's shown in the JN episode Best Friend...Worst Nightmare! that its heat pads can also thaw others out of ice. By using its powerful legs, Scorbunny can run and jump around its opponents to confuse and disorient them. It is a rare Pokémon that is generally found under the ownership of trainers. According to Pokémon Journeys, the soles on Scorbunny's feet are believed to bring good luck. It has been recently seen living in the Terarium of Blueberry Academy.

Origin
Origin
Scorbunny may be based on a white rabbit. It may also take inspiration from the high body temperature of rabbits, ranging from 100 to 103 degrees Fahrenheit.
Scorbunny appears to be based on a white rabbit. The yellow mark over its nose is inspired by a Japanese character design trope, in which a character has a bandage over their nose to show their rambunctious personality. Its Fire type may take inspiration from the relatively high body temperature of rabbits, which range from 100-103 °F (37-39 °C); or to tale 316 of the Jataka tales, in which a rabbit jumped into a fire as an offering, but was not burnt by the flames. The belief that its soles can bring good luck, as noted in JN, is likely inspired by the real-life belief that wearing a rabbit's foot as an amulet may bring good luck.

Scorbunny (Japanese: ヒバニー Hibanny) is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII.

It evolves into Raboot starting at level 16, which evolves into Cinderace starting at level 35.

Along with Grookey and Sobble, Scorbunny is one of the three first partner Pokémon of Galar available at the beginning of Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Along with Grookey and Sobble, it was the first Generation VIII Pokémon to be revealed to the public on February 27, 2019.

Biology

Scorbunny is a rabbit-like Pokémon that has a predominantly white body with orange and yellow markings on its ears, toes, and neck. The markings on its neck resemble a collar. It has buckteeth, black beady eyes with orange accents, and an orange nose with a yellow band shape across it, resembling a bandage. It has long legs with long feet, and similar yellow bands under each paw pad. It also has a small, white, poofy tail.

Scorbunny loves to run and is filled with energy. A warm-up run can cause the fire energy in Scorbunny to start coursing through its body, allowing it to fight at full power. It has a sac in its chest that contains fire energy,[1] which it uses to generate heat from the special pads on the soles of its feet and nose, once it is ready to fight. The pads on Scorbunny's feet can get so hot that it is capable of using them to start small fires and burn opponents with a kick. The footpads of Scorbunny can deal heavy damage to opponents. It's shown in the Pokémon Journeys: The Series episode Best Friend...Worst Nightmare! that its heat pads can also thaw others out of ice. By using its powerful legs, Scorbunny can run and jump around its opponents to confuse and disorient them. It is a rare Pokémon that is generally found under the ownership of trainers.[1] According to Pokémon Journeys, the soles on Scorbunny's feet are believed to bring good luck. It has been recently seen living in the Terarium of Blueberry Academy.

Scorbunny and its evolutions are the only known Pokémon that can have Libero as an Ability.

Taking a liking to Goh, Scorbunny subsequently started following him, leading to it being caught in Mind-Boggling Dynamax!. It evolved into a Raboot in Kicking It from Here Into Tomorrow!, and then into a Cinderace in Sword and Shield... The Legends Awaken!.

Other

In Showdown at the Gates of Warp!, Alternate World Goh's Cinderace devolved into Raboot, then Scorbunny, and finally an Egg due to Dialga and Palkia's influence. It was later restored to normal.

Trivia

Origin

Scorbunny appears to be based on a white rabbit. The yellow mark over its nose is inspired by a Japanese character design trope, in which a character has a bandage over their nose to show their rambunctious personality.[2] Its Fire type may take inspiration from the relatively high body temperature of rabbits, which range from 100-103 °F (37-39 °C); or to tale 316 of the Jataka tales, in which a rabbit jumped into a fire as an offering, but was not burnt by the flames. The belief that its soles can bring good luck, as noted in Pokémon Journeys: The Series, is likely inspired by the real-life belief that wearing a rabbit's foot as an amulet may bring good luck.

Name origin

Scorbunny may be a combination of scorch, score, and bunny.

Hibanny may be a combination of 火 hi (fire), 火花 hibana (spark), and bunny.
