==Effect==
==Effect==
Barrier increases the user's {{stat|Defense}} by two stages. Barrier will do nothing if the user's Defense has reached a stage of +6 or a value of 999. The effect of Barrier is ignored by critical hits.
===Generations I to V===
Barrier increases the user's {{stat|Defense}} by two stages.

===Generations VI and VII===
Barrier's PP was changed from 30 to 20.

If powered up by a [[Psychium Z]] into Z-Barrier, all of the user's lowered stats are reset.

===Generation VIII onwards===

In Pokémon UNITE, Barrier is {{p|Mr. Mime}}'s second move. It is obtained by reaching level 6 upgrading {{m|Light Screen}} into it instead of {{m|Guard Swap}}. The user creates a wall that prevents enemies from passing. Holds 2 uses in reserve and cannot be used more than once every 2s. When upgrading Barrier, reserved Barriers will be restored to the maximum. At level 13, can store 3 uses in reserve.
