Professor Lund (Japanese: ロンド博士 Dr. Rondo) is a character who appeared in Destiny Deoxys. He is a Pokémon Professor from LaRousse City and the father of Tory Lund. He is credited for naming the Mythical Pokémon Deoxys.
History
Four years prior to the events of the movie, Professor Lund traveled to the Arctic along with his assistant Yuko and his son Tory in order to gather data needed for a research he was conducting. His camp was hit by a meteor carrying a Deoxys and got completely destroyed. The crash-landing startled a horde of Sealeo and Walrein, while Professor Lund was able to rescue his son, Tory went onto develop a fear of Pokémon. He watched as a Rayquaza, fearing the extraterrestrial Pokémon would pose a threat to humans and Pokémon alike, appeared to defend its territory.
After Rayquaza managed to neutralize Deoxys, Professor Lund found a green crystal, which he took to his laboratory in his hometown. He and Yuko spent years studying the mysterious crystal and conducting research on Deoxys's regenerative capabilities. Overtime the core had been sending out signals while the Deoxys once neutralized by Rayquaza restored itself and traveled to LaRousse City to reunite with its friend.
Professor Lund and Yuko met up with Tory at LaRousse City's Battle Tower to congratulate him on his first battle, though Tory left in a huff.
After Deoxys' arrival into LaRousse City, Rayquaza soon followed. Professor Lund contacted Officer Jenny and at his suggestion the whole area was put into evacuation. He became caught up in the evacuation crowd after one of the sidewalks spontaneously started up again. He eventually fell off a Block Bot bridge into the water, fortunately Officer Jenny was able to rescue him in time. Professor Lund was relegated to the outskirts of the city because of the dangerous situation unfolding. He was frustrated after finding out his son had not evacuated and watched on through a pair of binoculars.
Thanks to Ash and everyone's efforts, the wind turbines begin to spin and LaRousse City's power is restored. While Yuko was able to rejuvenate the Deoxys core to help it reunite with its friend, the block bots are sent into overdrive and soon flood the city. Just then, Professor Lund appears on screen in time and with his instructions Ash uses his passport to allow Lund to regain control of the system and shut it down.
After the final showdown, Rayquaza befriends the two Deoxys and soars away. Professor Lund and Yuko join Tory and the others in time to see the pair of Deoxys reunited and also fly off. He, Tory and Yuko waved goodbye from the monorail platform as Ash, his friends, Rebecca, Rafe, Sid, Audrey and Kathryn boarded the departing service.
Professor Lund's research on Deoxys' meteorite origins and his reports on the events in LaRousse City were mentioned by Pokémon Ranger Solana in Pokémon Ranger - Deoxys Crisis.
