Welcome to the Bulbapedia sandbox!
A sandbox is a place where people may test things. This is the public sandbox which anyone may use, particularly beginners.
Anything may be placed in here, with the exception of things that break the rules (flaming, swearing, personal content, etc.)
Please note that the purpose of the sandbox is primarily testing templates which may later be used in the mainspace. Please use the preview button rather than saving this page wherever possible.
Please read the manual of style before contributing to pages.
Do not remove any sections from the sandbox unless you are the author of that section. Otherwise, only staff members may remove content from this page.

template

who wants to check out my new template? let's experiment with your very first starter back in the old days. User:Grookeyscorbunnysobble/Template:Pokémon but what if you played pokemon red and chose bulbasaur? you use the color1 parameter like this. instead of using
{{User:Grookeyscorbunnysobble/Template:Pokémon |game=ORAS |ndex=001 |pokemon=Bulbasaur |gender=male |level=5 |type1=Grass |type2=Poison |move1=Tackle |move1type=Normal |move2=Growl |move2type=Normal}}
you use
{{User:Grookeyscorbunnysobble/Template:Pokémon |game=ORAS |ndex=001 |color1=Red |pokemon=Bulbasaur |gender=male |level=5 |type1=Grass |type2=Poison |move1=Tackle |move1type=Normal |move2=Growl |move2type=Normal}}
and it will come out as this.User:Grookeyscorbunnysobble/Template:Pokémon

Japanese-English lyrics template

A template for J-E lyrics, mainly so that there might be some standardization (enforced via the template).

If you look at the lyrics below and the current lyrics on their linked mainspace pages, you'll see that they look pretty much the same. The biggest difference is in the Can You Name All the Pokemon? BW tables, in the spaces between stanzas, but that's trivial enough that I'm not really worried about "fixing" it.

I've also set up this template so that, even on different-sized windows, the stanzas in each column will always be basically aligned. If you make your window about half the width of your full screen and compare the lyrics on the current Can You Name All the Pokémon, Baby? page to the lyrics shown below, you should see the Japanese stanzas on that page starting lower and lower than their English counterparts, while below, the paired stanzas will always start in the same place. (Making each individual line do the same thing would be a bit of overkill, I think. But it could probably be hacked up with this template(s), as is.)

Wild held items mod

A sample of a modification to the List of Pokémon by wild held item table, where individual cells are not displayed if that Pokemon never existed in that Generation (and could not have had a held item there; it makes it easier to know which column is the first when they actually could have an item, especially when they don't actually have one).

Trainer ownership template test

To those of you who want to fill up the "seen" or are just curious about which in-game trainers have your favorite Pokémon, I'm working on a template for that.

Main story

The player wakes up in a forest clearing as a human transformed into a Pokémon. As the player wakes up, they are greeted by the partner, who tells them that they look like a Pokémon. A mother Butterfree approaches the pair and frantically tells them that a fissure opened in the ground and her son, a Caterpie, fell into a cavern. The player and partner agree to help by rescuing Caterpie in Tiny Woods. When they reach the deepest part of Tiny Woods, they rescue Caterpie and reunite him with his mother, who gives them a reward. The player learns that this world has been afflicted by a recent bout of natural disasters, one of which created the fissure that Caterpie fell into. Afterward, the partner takes the player to the Team Base, where the two agree to form a rescue team.

Building a rescue team

The next day, the team gets a request to rescue two Magnemite who have gotten stuck together in Thunderwave Cave. After the pair rescues the two Magnemite, the partner introduces the player to Pokémon Square and the Pelipper Post Office, and the team starts taking jobs posted there. Two days later, Dugtrio visits the team base to tell the player and partner that his son, Diglett, was taked to Mt. Steel during an earthquake overnight, and the team agrees to help. When they reach the peak of Mt. Steel, they encounter a Skarmory, who accuses Diglett of causing the recent earthquakes. The team defeats the Skarmory, and the two Magnemite that they saved earlier come and help Diglett to safety. Back at the base, the partner asks if the Magnemite can join the team, but they decline because the team has nowhere nearby for them to live.

The next morning, the player tells the partner that they have been experiencing strange dreams. The team sets off for the Wigglytuff ClubRB/Wigglytuff's Camp CornerRTDX, where Wigglytuff gives them three* Friend AreasRB/four* rescue team campsRTDX for free. At the request of the two Magnemite, Wigglytuff gives them the Power Plant Friend Area, and one of the Magnemite joins the team. As the team is returning home, they see a Jumpluff begging Shiftry and his team to rescue its friend, another Jumpluff who is trapped in Silent Chasm. Shiftry refuses, only conceding after Team A.C.T., a rescue team consisting of Alakazam, Charizard, and Tyranitar, arrives and persuades Shiftry to help.

Two days later, the team has their first run-in with Team Meanies, a villainous rescue team. Consisting of Gengar, Medicham, and Ekans, they use their rescue team status to amass wealth and power to achieve their ultimate goal of world domination. Medicham steals the mail from the mailbox at the Team Base, and Team Meanies runs off. After they leave, Pelipper delivers more mail to the team.

Another two days later, Caterpie arrives at the Team Base and tells the team that his older brother Metapod is lost in Sinister Woods. Team Meanies shows up again and offers to help Caterpie; in exchange, they plan to extract a generous reward from Caterpie and make him join the team. The player and partner set off for Sinister Woods. When they reach the deepest part of the woods, Team Meanies catches up to them, and the two teams face off in a boss battle. Team Meanies is defeated, then Metapod comes out from the woods and goes home with the player's team. Back at the Team Base, Caterpie and Metapod say that they want to join the player's team someday, and the partner has the idea of renovating the Team Base.

The next day, Jumpluff comes to the base and tells the team that neither the other Jumpluff nor Shiftry have returned. Jumpluff explains that the other Jumpluff is stuck between two rocks in Silent Chasm and can't get loose because there's been no wind recently. The team sets out to rescue Shiftry and Jumpluff in Silent Chasm. When they reach the end of the dungeon, they find Jumpluff and Shiftry; Jumpluff is in good condition, but Shiftry has keeled over. Shiftry had successfully rescued Jumpluff by whipping up strong winds with his fans, but the winds tore a thundercloud in two, disturbing the legendary Pokémon Zapdos's sleep. Zapdos attacked Shiftry, causing him to faint. Zapdos appears and takes Shiftry to Mt. Thunder, while Jumpluff and the team return to the base safely. After careful preparations, the player's team and Team A.C.T. climb Mt. Thunder to battle Zapdos and rescue Shiftry. As the player's team defeats Zapdos at the summit, Team A.C.T. arrives, and Zapdos releases Shiftry and flies off. Alakazam says he can tell that the player is human, and the partner asks if he knows why the player became a Pokémon; Alakazam suggests that the team visits Xatu at the Hill of the Ancients at the top of the Great Canyon to find out.

Discovering the truth

At the Hill of the Ancients, Xatu tells the team that the spike in natural disasters is occurring because the world's balance has been disrupted, and that the player's transformation is inextricably tied to this disruption. Further, this balance must be restored or the world will be destroyed. Gengar overhears this conversation and plans to use the information to discredit the player. The next day, the player and partner visit Whiscash Pond, where Whiscash tells them about the legend of Ninetales. According to the legend, a human Trainer once grabbed one of Ninetales's tails, and was thus subjected to a 1,000-year curse. Their partner, a Gardevoir, intervened and took the curse for them; Ninetales gave the Trainer an opportunity to save Gardevoir, but thee had already deserted Gardevoir. Ninetales prophesied that the Trainer would be reborn as a Pokémon, and when that happened, nature would lose its balance. That night, Gardevoir appears in the player's dream and says she is glad to finally meet them.

The next day, Gengar tells the residents of Pokémon Square that the player is the cursed human in the Ninetales legend and that their transformation into a Pokémon is the cause of the imbalance in the Pokémon world. To restore balance to this world, he says, the player must be eliminated. The townsfolk ask the player if this is true, but the player is at a loss for words; the townsfolk then decide to run the player out of town. The player and partner leave at dawn, determined to uncover the truth of the player's identity, and are seen off by Caterpie, Metapod, Diglett, and the two Jumpluff. They are pursued eastward through Lapis Cave and Mt. Blaze, where they encounter an angered Moltres, who blames them for the abnormal volcanic activity. After defeating and calming down Moltres, the player and partner promise to find the cause of the natural disasters afflicting the Pokémon world and put an end to them. Although exhausted, the team press onward and travel north to evade their pursuers.

They journey through frozen, sparsely populated areas and eventually reach the Frosty Forest. In the deepest part of the dungeon, Articuno appears and tells the team that the forest is warming and the snow is melting, and blames them for this disturbance. Articuno prepares to attack them, but Absol intervenes to stop the fighting and defend the player and partner. The team promises to stop the natural disasters, and Articuno lets them pass. Sharing the team's desire to stop the calamities, Absol joins forces with them. Together, the player, the partner, and Absol travel farther north. As they are walking, Gardevoir appears, visible only to the player, and tells the player that they are approaching Mt. Freeze, which is home to Ninetales. When the team reaches the peak of Mt. Freeze, Team A.C.T. catch up to them, and the two teams start brawling. Ninetales breaks up the fight and explains that the selfish human from the legend is still alive but is not the player. She also states that the world's imbalance and the cursed human's transformation into a Pokémon are not connected. Alakazam commends the team for coming this far and discovering the truth. Just then, the ground starts trembling; Ninetales warns that the earthquakes will awaken Groudon. Team A.C.T. ventures into Magma Cavern to quell Groudon, while the player's team returns to Pokémon Square. They tell the townsfolk everything they have learned, and Gengar is discredited.

A few nights later, Gardevoir appears in the player's dream and tells the player that the player turned into a Pokémon to fulfill a certain role, and Gardevoir's role is to watch over the player. The next day, Wynaut and Wobbuffet visit the Team Base and ask the rescue team to look at a request they have put up on the Bulletin Board. When the team goes to the Pelipper Post Office and reads the request, Wynaut explains that the forest they are from—Uproar Forest—is home to a group of rampaging Mankey who attack everyone on sight. The rescue team agrees to help. The team encounters and defeats the Mankey gang in Uproar Forest, and the Mankey help renovate the Team Base in exchange for peeled Chestnuts. Eventually, the Team Base is completed, and the Mankey promise to stop wreaking havoc and return to Uproar Forest.

Saving the world

Some time later, Shiftry convenes an emergency meeting in Pokémon Square, where a lot of rescue teams from around the world have shown up. Team A.C.T. hasn't returned from Magma Cavern, so Shiftry proposes a special rescue team to go underground and save them; Blastoise from Team Hydro, Octillery from Team Constrictor, and Golem from Team Rumblerock volunteer for this team. When the new team is defeated, the partner announces that their team will go to Magma Cavern themselves to defeat Groudon and rescue Team A.C.T., inspiring the other rescue teams to join the effort as well. The player's team emerges victorious from Magma Cavern, and Alakazam recognizes them as a world-class rescue team. Communicating with the townsfolk via telepathy, Xatu announces that a falling star is headed towards the planet and that this meteor is causing the imbalance in nature. He says that they must ask Rayquaza to destroy the meteor before it collides with the planet. The player's team offers to go to Sky Tower to talk to Rayquaza.

That night, Gengar tries to interfere with the player's dream by using Dream Eater, but gives up. In the dream, Gardevoir tells the player that they were selected for their courage to become a Pokémon and save the world. Before becoming a Pokémon, they chose to erase their memories of being a human in order to cleanse their heart and mind and eventually prove their worthiness as the savior of the Pokémon world.

The next day, the player and partner go to the Hill of the Ancients, where Xatu, Alakazam, and Gengar have combined their powers to create the Teleport Gem. Using the Teleport Gem, the player's team teleports to Sky Tower. At the Sky Tower Summit, Rayquaza appears and accuses the team of trespassing on its "airspace." After Rayquaza is defeated, the team convinces it to destroy the falling star, which has already entered the atmosphere. Rayquaza uses its Hyper Beam to destroy the meteor, and the player and partner are caught in the blast. The pair end up adrift in the netherworld as spirits. Gengar tries to drag them into the "dark world" but "accidentally" returns them to the Pokémon world instead.

The pair end up back at the Hill of the Ancients, where they are congratulated by several townsfolk from Pokémon Square. As the Pokémon celebrate the end of the calamities, Gardevoir appears and tells the player that their job is done and it is time for them to return to the human world. Enveloped in light, the player says farewell and starts to return to the human world, but, after the credits roll, decides to remain in the Pokémon world and reappears at the Team Base.

Epilogue

Despite having stopped the meteor, many smaller calamities still happen as the world is coming back into balance. The team vows to keep doing its best, as always. Upon walking to Pokémon Square, the duo is stopped by Caterpie and Metapod, who tell them that Snubbull looks different. The group races to Whiscash's Pond, whereupon Snubbull (now a Granbull), Alakazam, and Whiscash are talking about what happened. Alakazam explains that Granbull had undergone Evolution by accidentally walking into Luminous Cave, which had been sealed prior due to the world's imbalance. He urges the player and partner to also do so, if they wish to become stronger.

From here, the post-game of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team opens up quite a bit, and there are branching storylines that happen at the same time, depending on the player's choices.

Smeargle's Desperate Plea!

The Stormy Sea and Buried Relic

To begin this storyline, the player must have beaten Sky Tower.

Not much longer after the rescue team returns from Sky Tower, Medicham appears in front of the team base, laughing to herself. She tells the rescue team that Lombre had nearly drowned at sea, despite being a Water-type Pokémon. Upon speaking with Lombre, he gets upset at Medicham's rumor, and tells the player what really happened. During a leisurely dive, a huge storm began to suddenly rage above him, and a dungeon opened up at sea. However, Lombre fled immediately after, and didn't know anything about the dungeon itself. He suggests talking to Whiscash about it. Whiscash confirms that he has heard of such a dungeon, "infinitely dark... and its depth unimaginable." Seeing them eager to go, Whiscash wishes them well, and the player is given access to the Stormy Sea. At the bottom of the dungeon, the players encounter Kyogre, who has woken from its long sleep. Eager to show off its power, Kyogre attacks the rescue team.

After the team returns, a newspaper special is sent in the mail; a new dungeon had been discovered! A crater, caused by part of the meteor hitting the ground, revealed the Buried Relic, an ancient dungeon thought to date back to before recorded history. Treasures in the walls, and Pokémon that lived in ancient times were rumored to be in this place. Being the talk of the square, the rescue team inquires about it, and Shiftry tells them of its location deep in the jungle to the south. Whiscash also tells them of an old saying about the Buried Relic: Three parts there are, guarded by three disciples. When the three parts are gathered in hand... a mirage shall appear to the bearer.

is there a way to remove the image? if there was it would be SUPER helpful. just to let you know anyone can edit this section. my userpage talk 21:16, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Which image?-Rocket Grunt 22:19, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
The trainer sprite. I am currently making a fake region (not in my userpage, in case you wanted to check it out there), and I want to make parties using Template:Party/Single for them, but I can't use images out of the archives. my userpage talk 02:43, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
You can just post a link to the image and it will be showed here, but I don't know how to scale them down or up.

absol-2.gif

If you just want to remove the trainer you can either make a new template on your page space "User:Grookeyscorbunnysobble/Party/Single" or just not make it a template, like this:

-Rocket Grunt 10:49, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

all good stuff here, but is there a way to keep the rounded rectangle thingy with the name and location and all that in the middle? my userpage talk 17:29, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
If getting rid of "class=expandable" is not a problem then all goes in the middle. If not, then we would have to go around it like I did here by putting additional padding.-Rocket Grunt 19:27, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
to clarify, i want EVERYTHING to look the same except you remove the circle with the trainer. grookeyscorbunnysobble 18:52, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
