Spencer Hale (Japanese: シュリー・スノードン Sully Snowdon) is a minor character who appeared in Spell of the Unown: Entei. He is a researcher from Greenfield who lives in a huge mansion with his wife and his daughter Molly.
In the movies
His wife had been hospitalized,[1] but in the dub, this was changed to her disappearing when looking for Unown, a project he was a part of as well. One day, as he explored an ancient building with his assistant Schuyler, Spencer too vanished into the Unown Dimension. His daughter Molly was sad because he did not return, and she instead received a box of mysterious tiles from the expedition. As Molly played with the tiles, the Unown emerged from them and created an illusory Entei, based on Molly's dreams and the storybook she and her father usually read, to be her father.
Spencer remained in the Unown Dimension until the end of the film. When Entei broke through the barrier, the Unown were no longer out of control, allowing him to be free from the alternate dimension. He returned later, as did his wife, after the Unown's influence over Molly ended.
Spencer is good friends with Delia Ketchum, and they were both students of Professor Oak.
Character
Spencer is highly regarded by his fellow researchers for his intelligence and kindness. However, his busy work schedule often means his daughter Molly is left at home with only the domestic staff to care for her.
