Physiology
Sableye are very diminutive hominid-like creatures with dark purple bodies. Their bodies are adapted for cave life as they are flexible enough to fit into small crevices while being tough enough to survive cave-ins. Their most distinguishing features are their gemstone-like eyes, which allow them to see in very little light. They have gemstones on their chests which grow as a result of its crystal and mineral diet. They are able to feed on such hard foods because of their sharp razor teeth, which are designed to crunch up rocks.
Sableye is a bipedal humanoid Pokémon with a dark purple body, armed with sharp teeth and claws, which it uses to dig through soil. It has pale blue, gemstone-like eyes, which allow it to see in low light and sparkle in the dark. It also has a red gemstone on its chest, and its back has a blue and green gemstone as well as another red one. These gem-like eyes and adornments on its body are caused by its diet, which consists of rocks and raw gemstones. Because of this, each individual Sableye can create an infinite number of patterns on its body.

Gender differences
It also targets Carbink as prey, though they are usually taken by Gabite before Sableye can reach them. It is feared by people since it is said to steal a person's soul if they look into its eyes. It is nocturnal and is rarely seen. It lives in the darkness of List of Pokémon by habitat. It uses its claws to dig for gems to eat and fight back. As mentioned in the Sleep Style Dex, Sableye is known to occasionally sleep while holding its gemstones. It is believed that Sableye dreams of eating gemstones until it feels satisfied.
None.

Special abilities
Sableye is the only known Pokémon that can have Stall as an Ability.
Sableye, along with its fellow -type Pokémon Spiritomb, has no natural weakness to a specific type unless moves like Odor Sleuth and Foresight are used on it, in which case Fighting moves will become super-effective.

Behavior
Forms
There are old stories that say a Sableye will steal your soul if you look into its eyes. However, evidence suggests that these Pokémon are actually friendly, only playing their infamous tricks on travelers in order to get attention because they become lonely living in dark holes all by themselves.
Sableye can Mega Evolve into Mega Sableye.

Habitat
As Mega Sableye, being bathed in Mega Evolution energy causes the red jewel on its chest to rip out of Sableye's skin and significantly increase in size; the detached jewel leaves a small hole in Mega Sableye's chest. Its ears elongate, and it gains a spike on the top of its head. Its teeth turn from white to yellow, and its eyes also change from pale blue to crimson red, with diagonal slits at their inner edges. Its back gains more gems: a second green one, a second red one, and two small yellow gems.

Sableye live in caves and abandoned mines, where they can readily find mineral deposits to eat.

Diet
The enlarged jewel is said to boast such incredible hardness that no attack can even leave a scratch on it. During battle, Mega Sableye shelters itself behind the jewel, from where it can take advantage of any openings its target leaves exposed. However, being forced to support its massive jewel leaves Sableye unable to turn quickly, making it vulnerable from behind.

Trivia
Trivia
*Sableye is one of the only two Pokémon created so far that are naturally and without help of an ability weak to no type. Sableye can only be hit by a super-effective move by removing an immunity, changing its type or using a Shadow move after purification in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.
* Sableye seems to be the counterpart of Mawile. Both of them are version-exclusive Pokémon to , , Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Sword and Shield, and . Both also have Mega Evolved forms and the same base stat totals, as well as HP and Speed.
**Since Sableye is one of the five Pokémon that do not have a weakness, it and Spiritomb are commonly hacked to have the ability Wonder Guard. This hack is commonly referred to as Wondereye.
* Sableye shares its category with Murkrow. They are both known as the Darkness Pokémon.
*Sableye is known for having both a ruby and a sapphire on its body. Its shiny form appears to have an emerald on the chest. This is most likely a reference to the three games of the generation it debuted in.
* Mega Sableye is the has the lowest base Speed stat of all Dark Pokémon.
*Sableye seems to be the counterpart of Mawile. Both of them are version-exclusive of Ruby and Sapphire, as well as in as Swarm Pokémon. They also have the same base stats total (Specifically, with the same amounts of base HP and Speed stats). By comparing their type each other, Sableye is dual-type Pokémon with no weakness, while Mawile is the single-type with the most number of resistances.
* Prior to the introduction of the Fairy type in Generation VI, Sableye (along with Spiritomb) had no weaknesses under normal conditions.
*Sableye shares the same species name with Murkrow. They are both known as Darkness Pokémon.

*Sableye is the only non Steel-type Pokémon that can learn Metal Burst.
*Sableye has the lowest base stat total of all fully evolved Dark-type Pokémon.
Origin
Origin
Sableye is a stylization of the Kelly–Hopkinsville encounter, a creature from an alleged Kentucky "alien encounter" described as having shining eyes, small legs, clawed arms and swaying hips (a movement that Sableye does indeed imitate in the 3-D Pokémon games). The Hopkinsville aliens are most famous in Japan, where they have appeared in other anime and video games.

Sableye (Japanese: ヤミラミ Yamirami) is a dual-type Dark/Ghost Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

While it is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, Sableye can Mega Evolve into Mega Sableye using the Sablenite.

Biology

Sableye feeding on gems

Sableye is a bipedal humanoid Pokémon with a dark purple body, armed with sharp teeth and claws, which it uses to dig through soil. It has pale blue, gemstone-like eyes, which allow it to see in low light and sparkle in the dark. It also has a red gemstone on its chest, and its back has a blue and green gemstone as well as another red one. These gem-like eyes and adornments on its body are caused by its diet, which consists of rocks and raw gemstones. Because of this, each individual Sableye can create an infinite number of patterns on its body.

It also targets Carbink as prey, though they are usually taken by Gabite before Sableye can reach them. It is feared by people since it is said to steal a person's soul if they look into its eyes. It is nocturnal and is rarely seen. It lives in the darkness of caves. It uses its claws to dig for gems to eat and fight back. As mentioned in the Sleep Style Dex, Sableye is known to occasionally sleep while holding its gemstones.[1] It is believed that Sableye dreams of eating gemstones until it feels satisfied.

Sableye is the only known Pokémon that can have Stall as an Ability.

Forms

Sableye can Mega Evolve into Mega Sableye.

The enlarged jewel is said to boast such incredible hardness that no attack can even leave a scratch on it. During battle, Mega Sableye shelters itself behind the jewel, from where it can take advantage of any openings its target leaves exposed.[2] However, being forced to support its massive jewel leaves Sableye unable to turn quickly, making it vulnerable from behind.

Trivia

Origin

Sableye may be based on the Hopkinsville Goblin, a creature from an alleged Kentucky alien encounter described as having shining eyes, small legs, clawed arms and swaying hips (a movement that Sableye imitates in the 3D Pokémon games). The Hopkinsville aliens are most famous in Japan, where they have appeared in several media.

The ruby and sapphire on Sableye's body may be a reference to the games it debuted in.

Name origin

Sableye may be a combination of sable (either referring to the heraldic color or the animal it is named after) and eye. It may also be a play on able-eyed.

Yamirami may be a combination of 闇 yami (darkness) and 藪睨み yabunirami (cross-eyed sight, squint) or 睨み nirami (glare).
