Opening animation: Version 1 (JN001 – JN031)
Synopsis
The series logo appears as the camera pans across a large grassy hill and settles on Ash, Goh, Pikachu, and Scorbunny, who are looking up at the sky. Ash and Pikachu are shown first, with Pikachu climbing around on his shoulders, jumping onto his shirt, and using it as a trampoline. Goh is then seen packing his bag with Scorbunny jumping at his side. Chloe is shown next poking her Yamper, which then turns its head and causes Chloe to smile. A cut to Professor Cerise follows, who holds out three Poké Balls. Ash, Goh, Pikachu, and Scorbunny are shown in front of maps featuring the starters of each of the regions from Kanto to Galar are shown.
Goh's hands are shown reaching towards a floating yellow orb, which is revealed to be Mew. Goh and Ash are then seen. Their eyes meet before each of them throw a Poké Ball in the air to send out a Pokémon. Ash, Pikachu, Chloe, Goh, and Scorbunny are seen dancing in the Cerise Laboratory, while Yamper lays on the ground in front of Chloe. They then all clap and face the screen. Scorbunny, Pikachu, Ash, and Goh are then seen jumping off a brick terrace away from the lab and run down the street. They trip in front of Chloe, who turns and walks away. Ash and Goh, along with Pikachu and Scorbunny, are then seen gazing up at a rock from which Meowth, Jessie, James, and Wobbuffet look down and sneer.
Pikachu jumps over a Tyranitar and uses Thunderbolt on it. Scorbunny then runs up to a Corviknight and uses Double Kick on it. Ash, Pikachu, Ren, Chrysa, Chloe, Professor Cerise, Goh, and Scorbunny all dance and clap their hands. A close-up of Pikachu and Scorbunny is shown, who smile and cry in quick succession. They are shown to be on top of Yamper, who is on top of Mimey. Pikachu and Scorbunny fall off of Yamper and Mimey catches them in each of his outstretched hands before all three jump off.
Ash, Goh, and Chloe, along with their partner Pokémon, are then seen walking on a rotating Poké Ball past several various Pokémon and landmarks from various regions. The following scene depends on the episode. Pikachu and Ash then jump into view, followed by Goh, Scorbunny, Pikachu, and Ash having tripped, with Goh skinning his knee. Goh and Scorbunny then jump into view, followed by all four seen standing up, looking at each other, and striking a pose.

Variants
The clip displayed during the line 「先も見えない 果ても知らない世界がそこにあるけど」 varies depending on the episode. This is typically a scene from the episode itself, with the exception of JN001, which used the same scene as JN002, and the episodes set in Galar (JN004-JN005, JN012-JN013, JN027-JN028), where Zacian and Zamazenta pose together. The opening animation used for the song in the Thai, Mandarin Chinese (Taiwan), and Indonesian dubs use only the Zacian/Zamazenta scene.

Synopsis
This section does not yet meet the quality standards of Bulbapedia. Please feel free to edit this section to make it conform to Bulbapedia norms and conventions. |
It starts with a green background when two windows open, one vertical with a blue background and a pair of legs wearing black shorts and shoes running, the other horizontal with a red background and feet wearing red socks and gray shoes running. These windows then close before opening again, this time showing Ash and Goh running. Then it shows the opening logo on a blue background. Ash is putting on his cap and adjusting his backpack before Pikachu jumps onto his shoulder with Goh behind him. The next shot is Goh checking his Poké Balls and Pokédex before he starts walking, revealing Raboot with his back turned, at which Goh turns and runs to him before squatting with a smile, all while Ash has his back turned with his hands on his hips.
Goh and Ash pester Chloe while Raboot looks at Pikachu with one eye closed while Pikachu is staring into the distance. Ask and Goh adjust their left shoes before putting their left feet down; Chloe is kneeling in front of Yamper; Raboot is bouncing a pebble with his foot while Pikachu watches Ash with a smile. Ash and Goh stretch while Chloe looks at them with her back turned.
The scene shifts to Ash and Goh running out of a house. Chloe is holding Yamper, Professor Cerise is holding a clipboard, Ren is kneeling, and Chrysa is looking over Ren's shoulder in Cerise's lab before they all look at the camera. Ash and Goh are looking at a computer screen as pictures of Articuno in a blizzard, Zapdos shooting lightning, and Moltres wreathed in flames appear over a map of Kanto before being replaced, respectively, with: a map of Johto showing pictures of Lugia over a river in a forest and Ho-Oh flying over a town with a rainbow in the background, a map of Hoenn with pictures of Groudon in lava and Kyogre underwater, a map of Sinnoh with a picture of Dialga and Palkia on Spear Pillar, a map of Unova with a picture of Zekrom and Reshiram over a black-and-white background, a map of Kalos with pictures of Yveltal surrounded by destruction and Xerneas surrounded by life, a map of Alola with pictures of Solgaleo running through a canyon and Lunala flying at night, and a map of Galar with a picture of Zacian (Crowned Sword) and Zamazenta (Crowned Shield) in front of their shrine in the Slumbering Weald.
Ash and Goh are looking over a folding map when Ash turns excitedly to Goh while Pikachu and Raboot snack on cookies. A close-up of Goh's left eye filled with Poké Balls is seen that zooms out to show Goh falling, surrounded by Poké Balls when Mew comes and flies around him as the camera spins around him as well. Goh does a flip as he pulls out a Poké Ball that sparks before opening to release Zapdos, who is joined by Articuno and Moltres in a storm before they fly off. A Poké Ball hits the ground and rolls to Goh's feet. We see inside the Poké Ball, seeing a round shadow and Ash and Goh gazing at the Poké Ball in wonder, the red top transparent. Goh briefly looks at Ash before the Poké Ball opens up with a blue light that fills the screen.
Ash gives a command while throwing his fist out as Pikachu, Dragonite, Gengar, and Riolu charge ahead, Galarian Farfetch'd riding on Dragonite's back in a ready stance. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, and we see they're attacking Goh's Aerodactyl, who dodges the attack. Gengar uses Shadow Ball before Sobble turns invisible in fright. Raboot charges in to defend, his pebble being used for an Ember. Jessie, James, Wobbufett and Meowth all pose before the Rocket Vending Machine drops, surprising them before Meowth activates it. Jessie and James give a confident look as they throw the Vending Balls, but we don't see what Pokémon they got.
Ash is staring in amazement as Gigantamax Pikachu battles Gigantamax Drednaw. Galarian Farfetch'd and Riolu Spar in a storm cloud covered field. Ash and all his Pokémon (And Yamper and Mr. Mime) cheer. Goh and several of his Pokémon cheer next. Ash and Goh are staring down Eternatus, Pikachu, Lucario, and Cinderace ready to fight.
Leon does his signature pose in front of his Charizard. He then commands Charizard to use Flamethrower on Duraludon who charges up a Steel-Type attack. Raihan gives a thumbs up in front of his Duraludon. We see various photographs of Ash, Goh, Leon, and Raihan. The first is them smiling for the camera, the second is them giving various surprised and shocked reactions, the third is mostly covered by Dragonite's Paw, the fourth is Dragonite hugging Ash, Goh, Pikachu, and Raboot while Leon and Raihan look on with smiles, and the fifth is a close-up of Ash and Goh squeezed together, smiling alongside Pikachu and Sobble while Raboot just looks exasperated.
Kiawe, Lana, Mallow, and Sophocles, along with Turtonator, Primarina, Tsareena, and Togedemaru stand in front of the Melemele Pokémon School. The Pokémon get affectionate and the students return the affection. Celebi (Normal in JN032, Shiny starting in JN033) flies through a forest at night, leaving a sparkling trail with various nocturnal Pokémon about. Ludicolo jumps into view before starting to dance with several Marshtomp.
Ash, Goh, Pikachu, and Raboot are standing on a cliff next to a tree overlooking a city at various times of day including morning, afternoon, evening, and night. The scene switches to a panning shot of the shrine for Zacian and Zamazenta in the Slumbering Weald. Bea slowly opens her eyes before the camera zooms out to show her and her Grapploct taking a fighting stance.
Ash is kneeling before he stands up and walks into an opening surrounded by white light. Pikachu's ears perk before he looks around. Ash is slowly walking forward with a smile that gets wider as he turns his head. Raboot's ear perks before he looks over, opening one eye. Goh is walking slowly with a smile that also gets wider as he turns his head. The final scene is Ash and Goh surrounded by Dragonite, Galarian Farfetch'd, Riolu, Gengar, Pikachu, Raboot, Heracross, Sobble, Flygon, and Scyther.

Synopsis
It starts with a Pidgey flying past Chloe, Professor Cerise, Chrysa, Ren, and finally Ash and Goh. Flashbacks of just before the two protagonists started their journeys are shown with Ash getting electrocuted by Pikachu at Professor Oak's laboratory and Goh seeing Mew for the first time. Cut to the present and Ash and Goh are leaving the Cerise Laboratory as they wave goodbye to Chloe. There are shots of the two going on journeys before Ash and Goh are seen in each of the eight core regions, each time including most, or all of the Pokémon Goh has caught that come from each of those places.
A Poké Ball catches something and one of the stars that hangs over the ball rises and turns into the same Mew that Goh is after, which he tries to reach out to grab. There is a zoom in on one of Goh's eyes and it transitions to Ash excitedly sending out his party in a stadium while wearing his Mega Glove, Z-Power Ring, and Dynamax Band. His Pokémon then battle an unknown opponent. Then Goh is seen with Danika and Quillon facing the six Legendary Titans on a Trial Mission at the Split-Decision Ruins in the Crown Tundra for Project Mew, before we cut back to Ash who is revealed to be battling Leon. Chloe is shown next doing a performance with her Eevee which ends with a fantasy of all of the Eeveelutions circling them.
Team Rocket are then shown trying to capture Pikachu, before Wobbuffet, Morpeko, and Pelipper accidentally mess up their plans by appearing. Shots of past and present friends and rivals of Ash's, as well as Wallace, Lisia, Horace, and a familiar Greninja are shown before going back to Ash's battle against Leon. Ash and Goh then interact with their Partner Pokémon before they run off with Ash's whole party and Goh's main Pokémon running alongside them as the opening ends.

Trivia
- As of JN095, this song has surpassed Together (94 episodes) as the longest running opening theme consecutively.
- However, if one were to count the four versions of the song as different themes, this record would go to Best Wishes! instead.
- The beginning of the song plays a sound that is similar to the Game Boy startup sound, possibly a reference to the earliest Pokémon games being on this console.
- The lyrics たとえ火の中 水の中 (Even if in fire, in water) are a reference to the first Japanese opening theme, Aim to Be a Pokémon Master, which uses the same phrase.
- The After The Rain version of the song is available as DLC for the Rhythm Game "Taiko no Tatsujin Drum 'n' Fun"
- Takanori Nishikawa posted an early version of the second version of the opening animation on his Twitter account, which has since been deleted. In it:
- The angle of the floor in the shot after the logo differs.
