Pokémon world locations

The Battle Tower (Japanese: バトルタワー Battle Tower) in Sinnoh is located in the Battle Park in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and the Battle Frontier in Pokémon Platinum, both of which are located near the Fight Area of the Battle Zone. The player is allowed access to the Battle Tower only after defeating the Elite Four and going to the Snowpoint City Harbor. Trainers all over the northeastern island speak of the Battle Tower, hailing it as the ultimate test for serious trainers. It is home to several different challenges. Palmer, Barry's father, is the Tower Tycoon here.

Upon defeating 100 Trainers in a row in Single Battle mode, the player gains a Trainer star.

Challenges

The first of these challenges is the standard single battle in which the challenger must engage in seven three on three battles in a row. Winning a set of seven battles earns the player Battle Points. The second of these challenges follows the same layout as the standard single battle but are rather conducted as double battles.

Finally, multi battles can be conducted, following the format found in the other two challenges. Before the challenge begins, players can choose among Riley, Cheryl, Buck, Mira, and Marley as their partner (after meeting them and clearing their area with them). Each partner specializes in a different Pokémon stat. One can also use the DS's wireless function to partner up with a friend.

Tower Tycoon

After winning 20 and 48 battles consecutively in the Single Battle Room, Tower Tycoon Palmer will offer the player a challenge. He will acknowledge him or her as the friend of his son and ask for a battle. Defeating him yields 20 BP each time.

Trivia

  • Although the sprites for the attendants of the Battle Tower in Platinum had been changed to match the rest of the Battle Frontier, while choosing a partner for a multi battle, the attendant's sprite was accidentally left unchanged from what it was in Diamond and Pearl. The same applies for when an attendant appears to award a trophy.
  • In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, the Battle Tower is the only area that a player cannot use the Walk Through Walls cheat with an Action Replay.
