Togekiss is a white, avian Pokémon with an ovoid body. While its feet are small and situated closely together, its wings are broad and triangular. Red and blue triangular markings over its underside, and it has a short tail consisting of three feathers. On the back of its head are three spikes: a red-tipped one on the right, a blue-tipped one on the left, and a pure white one in the middle. Togekiss has a relatively flat face and small, black eyes.
Togekiss have long been known worldwide as bringers of blessings, being depicted on good-luck charms since ancient times. It is said that Togekiss brings good luck simply by virtue of its existence. However, they only appear in peaceful places and have never been witnessed anywhere near conflict or turmoil, making their recent sightings exceptionally rare. It shares many kind gifts and sweet blessings when it visits peaceful places or sees people who avoid strife and respect the rights of others. However, Togekiss is a capable fighter, and can use a powerful energy wave in battle. As mentioned in the Sleep Style Dex, seeing several Togekiss sleeping contently is a sign that peace reigns in the area.
Evolution
Togekiss evolves from Togetic and is the final form of Togepi.
Scant few have ever sighted this Pokémon. After studying what literature remains, I am certain Togekiss will reveal itself when peace reigns in the land.
It's said that Togekiss is never seen anywhere near conflict or turmoil. If you ever see several of them sleeping contentedly, perhaps it's a sign that peace reigns in the area.
A female Togekiss made its main series debut in Dawn of a Royal Day!, originally under the ownership of Princess Salvia. Salvia wanted to enter a Pokémon Contest but could not due to her royal obligations. Therefore, she swapped places with Dawn for a day and entered the Arrowroot Contest with Togekiss. After winning, she gave Togekiss to Dawn as a gift as she felt the Jubilee Pokémon would be better off with a traveling Coordinator.
Togekiss, the Jubilee Pokémon. A Fairy and Flying type. People say its very existence brings good fortune. It's been pictured on good-luck charms since ancient times.
Togekiss and its pre-evolved form are the only Pokémon that are in the Flying and FairyEgg Groups. They are also the only Fairy-type Pokémon in the Flying egg group.
In Pokkén Tournament, Togekiss is the only Support Pokémon with a charge time of "Normal".
Origin
Togekiss appears to be based on fairies and birds. Its white color and association with peace suggest inspiration from doves, while its triangular belly markings are similar to a snowy owl. Its reputation for sharing blessings is reminiscent of angels. Like its pre-evolutions, its round body resembles an egg. Its rigid, triangular wings are also reminiscent of a flying wing.
Name origin
Togekiss may be a combination of 刺 toge (spike) and kiss, referencing its kind nature.
