Weather (Masters)
Weather is a type of field effect in Pokémon Masters EX that affects all Pokémon on the field, based on the mechanic of the same name from the core series games. Only one type of weather may be present at a time, with any new weather condition put in place overwriting the previous weather condition. Weather can be used concurrently alongside terrain and zones.
At normal game speed, weather conditions generally last for 45 seconds. This excludes time that sync pairs spend performing sync moves or max moves, but this includes time spent on everything else (e.g., moves' animation times, stats getting raised or lowered, taking damage from hail or a sandstorm, skills activating, or status conditions being applied or taking effect). At faster speeds, weather conditions last shorter to accommodate for quicker gameplay. However, the duration of a weather condition can be extended if the same type of weather is summoned again or if a Pokémon on the field has a certain skill that extends the duration of the weather.
There are four types of weather conditions available in the game: sunny, rain, hail, and sandstorm. Each weather condition behaves similarly to the weather conditions in the core series games, with some differences.
Effects
- Sunny: Boosts Fire-type attacks by 50%. Additionally, Pokémon cannot be frozen, and previous Pokémon that were frozen prior to the weather condition being implemented will not be frozen anymore after the weather takes effect.
- Rain: Boosts Water-type attacks by 50%.
- Hail: Damages sync pairs after the Trainer or Pokémon takes an action.
- Sandstorm: Damages sync pairs after the Trainer or Pokémon takes an action.
Unlike in the core series games, Ice-type Pokémon are not naturally immune to damage from hail; similarly, Rock-type, Steel-type, and Ground-type Pokémon are not naturally immune to damage from sandstorm. Instead, the effects of hail and sandstorm can be nullified by passive skills such as Snow Shelter and Sand Shelter.
Setting weather
Weather conditions may be applied through Pokémon moves, buddy moves, max moves, and skills. Some Field sync pairs can set a weather condition using their sync move after being raised to 6★ EX (including those with the Field EX role).

Removing weather
Except in certain circumstances, such as a battle where all field effects are permanent, weather conditions will automatically disappear after a certain amount of time. The only way to remove a weather condition before the end of this timer is by setting up a new weather condition, which will override the previous one, or using the skill Weather Wipe.

For damage-dealing Water- and Fire-type sync moves, this power-doubling feature stacks multiplicatively with the type-matching damage boosts that rainy and sunny weather provide, which can make the power of those types of attacks be at least tripled.
