Glaceon is a quadrupedal, mammalian Pokémon covered in light-blue fur. It has long, pointed ears, dark eyes, and a small nose. A teal crest with two dangling flaps adorns its head, resembling hair or headgear. Glaceon has two dark blue, rhombus-shaped markings on its back; the tip of its tail, feet, and flaps are the same shade of blue. | Glaceon is a quadrupedal, mammalian Pokémon covered in light-blue fur. By controlling its body temperature, it freezes the moisture in the air, producing ice crystals or diamond dust surrounding it. It is capable of freezing its fur into sharp needle-like icicles, which it can fire at opponents or use as protection as it tackles at its prey. It can quickly drop its body temperature below −75 °F (−60 °C). Glaceon is rather popular in ski resorts due to its ability to create powdery snow. Those captivated by Glaceon's beautiful snowfall will be instantly frozen without realizing it. | By controlling its body temperature, it freezes the moisture in the air, producing ice crystals or diamond dust surrounding it. It is capable of freezing its fur into sharp needle-like icicles, which it can fire at opponents or use as protection as it tackles at its prey. As mentioned in the Sleep Style Dex, Glaceon can also perform this defense mechanism while sleeping. It can quickly drop its body temperature below −75 °F (−60 °C). Glaceon is rather popular in ski resorts due to its ability to create powdery snow. Those captivated by Glaceon's beautiful snowfall will be instantly frozen without realizing it.

Glaceon evolves from Eevee when exposed to an Ice Rock or, from Generation VIII onwards, when exposed to an Ice Stone. Eevee will always evolve into Glaceon when leveled up near an Ice Rock, even if the evolutionary conditions for it to evolve into Espeon, Umbreon, or Sylveon have also been met. The Ice Rock is not present in HeartGold and SoulSilver, Sword and Shield, or Scarlet and Violet, and the Ice Stone is not obtainable in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Eevee will never evolve into Glaceon in LGPE, as Glaceon is not present in those games.

Glaceon (Japanese: グレイシア Glacia) is an Ice-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.
It evolves from Eevee when leveled up near an Ice Rock or when exposed to an Ice Stone.
(Specifics may differ in past games. Refer to Game data→Evolution data for these details.)
It is one of Eevee's final forms, the others being Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Sylveon.
Biology
Glaceon is a quadrupedal, mammalian Pokémon covered in light-blue fur. It has long, pointed ears, dark eyes, and a small nose. A teal crest with two dangling flaps adorns its head, resembling hair or headgear. Glaceon has two dark blue, rhombus-shaped markings on its back; the tip of its tail, feet, and flaps are the same shade of blue.
Evolution
Glaceon evolves from Eevee.
(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

Evolution data
Glaceon evolves from Eevee when exposed to an Ice Rock or, from Generation VIII onwards, when exposed to an Ice Stone. Eevee will always evolve into Glaceon when leveled up near an Ice Rock, even if the evolutionary conditions for it to evolve into Espeon, Umbreon, or Sylveon have also been met. The Ice Rock is not present in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, Pokémon Sword and Shield, or Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and the Ice Stone is not obtainable in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Eevee will never evolve into Glaceon in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, as Glaceon is not present in those games.

Other appearances
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Glaceon appears as a trophy alongside its counterpart, Leafeon.
Trophy information
A Fresh Snow Pokémon and a Verdant Pokémon. They are both evolutions of Eevee. Eevee can evolve into seven different Pokémon depending on what it has in its possession and where it is when it evolves. Glaceon is an Ice-type and can freeze all the fur on its body into protective quills. Leafeon is a Grass-type, and the air around it is always fresh and clean.
Pokémon UNITE
- Main article: Glaceon (UNITE)
Glaceon is playable through obtaining a Unite License. It is a ranged attacker that starts as Eevee, which evolves into Glaceon at level 4.
Trivia
- Glaceon's Japanese name is the same as the English name of Glacia, a member of the Hoenn Elite Four.
- According to the Diamond and Pearl Pokédex, Glaceon, Leafeon, and Umbreon have identical footprints.
- Despite Eevee being obtainable before the Pokémon League in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, it cannot evolve into Glaceon or Leafeon until after the Elite Four is defeated. This is because Twist Mountain, where the Ice Rock is located, cannot be reached until that point in the game, as the entrances to it and the Tubeline Bridge are blocked.
- Glaceon shares its category with Vanillite. They are both known as the Fresh Snow Pokémon.
- In Generation IX, prior to the Version 2.0.1 update of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Glaceon was unable to learn Trailblaze via TM, while its pre-evolution and all the other Eeveelutions could.
- According to the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl beta and the data files of Pokémon Battle Revolution,[1] Glaceon's developmental name was Aisia. This name may be derived from ice.
Concept and development
Glaceon was designed by Atsuko Nishida.[2][3]
Origin
Like many of the Eeveelutions, Glaceon shares characteristics with foxes, dogs, and cats. It may be more closely based on an arctic fox, due to their habitat. Assuming Leafeon draws inspiration from Siamese or other colorpoint cats, Glaceon may also draw some inspiration from them (especially blue points). Its "hair" resembles an ushanka or a scarf hat.
Name origin
Glaceon may be a combination of glacier (a large, slow-moving mass of ice on land) or glace (French for ice) and eon (an immeasurably long period of time, possibly referring to how long evolution takes naturally). Eon is a suffix all Eevee evolutions share and was Eevee's English prototype name. Incidentally, its name is also an anagram of congeal (to become solid, usually by cooling).
Glacia may be derived from glacier. It may also involve grace.
