By Your Side ~Hikari's Theme~ (Japanese: 君のそばで 〜ヒカリのテーマ〜 Kimi no Soba de ~Hikari no Tēma~, exact Kimi no Soba de ~Hikari no Thema~) was the first ending song of the Diamond & Pearl series, and the 21st ending overall. It aired from DP001 to DP061.

Synopsis of original version
Dawn is shown in different poses, along with Ash's hat and Pikachu's ear. She strikes a pose, displaying her Pokétch, which transitions into Dawn catching a coin with her previous pose. Dawn is looking at the sky with Ash, Brock and their Pokémon. Piplup is on Dawn's shoulder, and they smile. Brock, Ash and Pikachu look at a fountain while Dawn watches Piplup eat. Ash, Pikachu, Brock and Dawn are looking at a Pokémon Contest poster. Piplup, Pikachu and Dawn appear on the screen in rapid order. She smiles at the camera, and a image of the group running with their Pokémon appears. Dawn winks at the camera, and a image of Dawn wearing her Contest attire is seen with everyone else and their Pokémon in the background. She is serious, then a image of the group jumping appears. The group is running with a mountain backdrop, as the group jumps the background changes to a valley with a waterfall and rainbow. Dawn looks at the camera, then she poses with her friends. She winks at the camera, then Team Rocket is seen digging a hole. She is serious, then she appears jumping, with a Poké Ball in hand. Dawn, Ash and Brock are running again. Then, they, Team Rocket, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny are smiling at the camera.

Dawn looks at the camera, then all of Ash, Dawn and Brock's Pokémon appears. She winks at the camera, then Team Rocket is seen crashing and falling down a hole. She is serious, then she appears jumping, with a Poké Ball in hand. Dawn, Ash and Brock are running again. Then, they, Team Rocket and all their Pokémon are smiling at the camera.
