Delia Ketchum (Delilah is also seen; Japanese: ハナコ Hanako) is Ash's mother in the Pokémon anime. Her Japanese seiyū is 豊島まさみ Masami Toyoshima, and she is voiced by Veronica Taylor (4Kids dub) and Michelle Knotz (Pokémon USA/TAJ dub) in English.
A relatively reserved woman, she gives the impression of having rather little of a brain. She is probably smarter than she comes off, though, as she was once one of Oak's students (along with Spencer Hale).
She lives in Pallet Town with Mimey, her Mr. Mime. According to Takeshi Shudo's novelization, she runs Pallet Town's only restaurant, Pallet House, which she inherited from her mother. When she was younger, she dreamed of becoming both a model and a Pokémon trainer, but abandoned those dreams to run the restaurant after Ash was born.
She is usually a quiet, cheerful woman, but when angered, she makes it known, not caring who she is talking to, once telling Entei he should be ashamed of himself in the third movie.
