Trivia
- Scald is one of two non-Fire-type moves (along with Steam Eruption) that thaws out frozen Pokémon it is used against. Both moves will also thaw the user.
- The only dual Water-type Pokémon that cannot learn Scald are part Ice-type.
- However, prior to the release of Pokémon X and Y, a banner at Summer 2013 World Hobby Fair showed Lapras using Scald, but Lapras cannot learn Scald in the final release of the game.
