|
Celestic Town (Japanese: カンナギタウン Kannagi Town) is a town in the Sinnoh region. It is a tiny town that preserves the history of Sinnoh and the old ways of life. The center of town has a small shrine that dates back to ancient times. It is one of the smallest towns in the entire region. It is also one of the oldest, and some say the town has been there since Sinnoh was created. It is the hometown of Cynthia's family and of Kalos Elite Four member Drasna's grandparents.
Slogan
The Past Lives (Japanese: むかしを つたえる まち A town that conveys the past.)
Places of interest
Cynthia's family's house
After Team Galactic is defeated at Mount Coronet, the player can come here to see a picture of the mascot for their game's counterpart version (Dialga for Pearl and Palkia for Diamond) to add to the Pokédex, a requirement to obtain the National Pokédex in those games. In Pokémon Platinum, both Pokémon can be encountered in the wild, and are automatically registered as seen when they are awakened on top of the Spear Pillar.
Celestic Ruins
The interior of the Celestic Ruins
Inside a cave, in the center of the town, are etchings telling the legend of Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie. However, in the anime, it was shown to be like actual ruins, with pillars and a temple-like structure. Found inside is a fresco involving the lake guardians.
In Pokémon Platinum, an event is unlocked here after the Stark Mountain storyline is completed. When the painting at the rear of the ruins is examined, Cynthia will appear and give her theory to the painting's meaning.
An identical fresco can be found in Mount Coronet, blocking the path to the Spear Pillar. It is destroyed by Team Galactic after the player has freed the lake guardians at their HQ.
Demographics
Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl
The population of Celestic Town is 22, making it the third least populous town in the Sinnoh region. Most of Cynthia's family lives here.
Shop
There is no Poké Mart in the town, so an elderly couple run a shop out of their house in the northwest of the town.

In the anime
In Top-Down Training!, Sinnoh Now reported that the Lustrous Orb, an item related to the Legendary Pokémon Palkia, was uncovered by archaeologists at the Celestic Ruins.
Ash and his friends arrived in Celestic in Battling The Generation Gap!. {{an|Dawn]] was eager to visit the fashion store belonging to Lila, a renowned Pokémon Stylist and a former Pokémon Coordinator who had once been her mother's rival and broken her winning streak. Ash, however, was with his mind set on finding a way to counter Fantina's Pokémon's Hypnosis and decided to train for his upcoming Gym battle with her instead. When Dawn and Brock arrived at Lila's store, the receptionist told them that Lila was having the whole day off, much to Dawn's disappointment.
When Dawn entered the Celestic Town Pokémon Contest, it turned our that Lila was spending her day off by returning to her old Coordinator role. Dawn and Lila both made to the finals, while Jessilina was eliminated at the Performance Stage. Despite Lila's Delcatty's Cute Charm hampering Dawn's Ambipom's ability to fight, Dawn was ultimately able to defeat her mother's rival and earn the Celestic Ribbon for herself, making it her third Ribbon overall. Afterwards, Lila allowed Dawn to pick out clothes and Accessories from her store free of charge.
In Losing Its Lustrous!, Ash and his friend visited the Celestic Town Historical Research Center, where they, together with Cynthia, Professor Carolina, and Officer Jenny's police officers, tried to stop Team Galactic from stealing the Lustrous Orb. However, they were unsuccessful, and in Double Team Turnover!, the villainous team left the town with two of the Pokémon of Myth orbs in their possession. The group also met Cyrus during their visit to the research center, but due to him posing as a businessman, they were unaware of his status as Team Galactic's leader.
Celestic Town is the hometown of Cynthia; her grandmother, Professor Carolina; and Lila, who's known as the "Tiger Lily of Celestic Town".

Pokémon Adventures
Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, and Cynthia's grandmother arrived in Celestic Town in Problematic Probopass and Mad Magnezone I. During their stay, they encountered Cyrus, who wanted to enter the Celestic Ruins to take photos of the murals depicting Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit. He succeeded in getting into the ruins and taking the photos, but Diamond and Pearl managed to steal and destroy his camera before he left.
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure!
Mitsumi and Hareta visited Celestic Town in Dialga's Secret Keys to learn more about Dialga and to deliver the Old Charm to Cynthia's grandmother, the town elder. They found her arguing with Team Galactic's B-2, who had also come to investigate. When B-2 got fed up with her stubbornness, he started the countdown on a bomb planted in the ruins out of spite. Hareta and his Piplup managed to keep the explosion from harming the town and its surroundings, and the Old Charm was successfully delivered. As thanks, the elder told Hareta and Mitsumi about Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie, as well as their connection to Dialga. They were then interrupted by Cyrus, who had been eavesdropping along with Jupiter and Saturn, and Mitsumi informed Hareta that Cyrus is the leader of Team Galactic.
In Team Galactic's Conspiracy, Revealed!!, Cyrus told Hareta and Mitsumi of his plan to take Dialga's power before leaving town, and Mitsumi challenged Jupiter and Saturn so that Hareta could pursue him. Her battle's ending was seen in the beginning of Challenge! The Fortress of Steel!!, in which Jun and Professor Rowan arrived to help, only for Jupiter and Saturn to withdraw.
