From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
Each item has an index number that identifies it in any game. The following list enumerates them according to the way they are stored in the Generation V Nintendo DS games.
Since Generation IV, items may be introduced at new or unused indices, but they are never removed.
List
Rows highlighted in black indicate items exclusive to Pokémon Black and White, while rows highlighted in pink indicate items introduced in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 (or exclusive to it if next to a row with the same index).
Changes
Coming into Generation V, the sprites of a few items changed. The Xtransceiver sprites were also updated between Black and White and Black 2 and White 2 (seen above).
Trivia
- All items from Generation IV appear in Generation V, except for HM07, HM08, and the Generation IV Mail. Most of the Key Items are unobtainable.
- The Ylw Apricorn and Blu Apricorn swapped index numbers between Generation IV and this generation: They are the only items to do so between those two generations.
- While the blank items in the middle of the list can be displayed, the "items" after the last item in the list cannot. The list can be viewed in-game if such item exists in the save file, but these items are unnamed and the game crashes when selected.
