Frenzy Plant (Japanese: ハードプラント Hard Plant) is a damage-dealing Grass-type move introduced in Generation III. Prior to Generation IX, only Grass-type fully evolved first partner Pokémon could learn this move. It is TM155 in Generation IX.

Effect

Frenzy Plant inflicts damage and then forces the user to recharge during the next turn. Unless this attack misses, the user will always have to recharge.

Frenzy Plant can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 4 bonus appeal points if Growth was used in the previous turn.

Frenzy Plant inflicts damage. If the move hits the target successfully, the user is inflicted with the recoil status condition for 1 turn (prior to Gates to Infinity, this move inflicted the Paused status condition), preventing them from acting on the next turn.

Since Frenzy Plant is exclusively a tutor move in main series, it is taught differently in Mystery Dungeon:

• In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, Venusaur will attempt to learn Frenzy Plant at level 99 if it has at least 333 IQ points. If this requirement is not met until after reaching level 99, Frenzy Plant can be relearned at the Gulpin Link Shop.
• In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, an eligible Pokémon will attempt to learn Frenzy Plant at level 72 if it has at least 300 IQ points. If this requirement is not met until after level 72, Frenzy Plant can be relearned at Electivire Link Shop.
• In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, Snivy can be taught Frenzy Plant via special TM available once Pokémon Paradise reaches Perfect Rank.
• In Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, the move can be taught at Hawlucha's Slam School by paying 11,000
• In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, the move can be taught at Gulpin Link Shop after completing the main story.
