Lana's father

Lana's father (Japanese: スイレンのパパ Suiren's father) is a minor recurring character who appeared in the Pokémon anime.

In the anime

He is the father of Lana, Harper and Sarah. He was first mentioned by Lana in Balloons, Brionne, and Belligerence!, as she recalled him instructing her to stay away from wild Dhelmise if she ever came across one. He made his physical debut in a flashback in Filling the Light with Darkness!, where he was lying unconscious in his house, due to the effects of a Necrozma, as Harper and Sarah played with him. However, he was not fully seen physically, due to Harper and Sarah covering most of his body, including his head, with a blanket.

Lana's father was fully seen in We Know Where You're Going, Eevee!, where he first encountered a wild Eevee as it was riding on a Mantine. Later, he returned home from his recent fishing expedition and greeted his family, only to learn Lana recently caught the same Eevee.

In Dreams of the Sun and Moon!, Lana revealed that she would be joining her father on his next sea expedition to search for the Mythical Pokémon Manaphy. He and Lana left in Thank You, Alola! The Journey Continues!.

In the games

In Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon, Lana's father lives in a house in Konikoni City with his wife and three daughters. He is a fisherman, and his wife states he is good at fishing treasures such as Pearls and Heart Scales, but does not have any luck when it comes to fishing Pokémon. He personally believes that one can fish up rare treasure if they cast their fishing line over piles of rocks that have bubbles erupting from them.

Trivia

  • Dub closed captions refer to him as Lana's father.
