After the Rocket trio split up, Jessie forced Butch to be her replacement partner in an attempt to make off with all of the Pokémon. Similarly Cassidy made James her new partner. However the two Rocket teams re-arranged once again, with Jessie returning to James. The rivalry between the two Rocket teams’ spills over, with Jessie and James trapping their rivals in pitfalls traps and sending them blasting off. Though their own theft plot is stopped and the stolen Pokémon recovered thanks to Ash and his friends.

In another operation under Dr. Namba, Cassidy and Butch appeared in Sleight of Sand!, where they used their Rhyhorn robot in an attempt to capture a Hippowdon. They first had to contend with Jessie and James's rival Slowbro mecha. However, they were stopped by the other Hippowdon, Hippopotas, Ash, and his friends. Both sides got sent blasting off in the end by Hippowdon's Hyper Beam.
====Pokémon Journeys: The Series====
Cassidy reappeared in The Good, The Bad, and The Lucky!, running a café in a small snowy village with her Raticate. She offered Jessie, James, Meowth, and Wobbuffet somewhere warm to stay after they got lost and fainted during a snowstorm. Cassidy revealed that she had left Team Rocket after getting fed up with the routine, and had taken wood carving as a hobby. The group helped Cassidy run her café as repayment, presumably for a few days; then Jessie, Meowth, and Wobbuffet continued their Team Rocket duties while persuading James to stay, as he appeared to be happier there.
Cassidy eventually made James leave after his James started eating all the food meant for the customers.
===Character=== | |||
| |||
Cassidy's partner is Butch, and she is one of the few that usually manages to get his name right. However, she has gotten his name wrong on many occasions - much to his frustration, as everyone else also calls him either "Biff", "Bill", "Bob", "Hutch", "Butcher", "Patch", "Botch", or "Buffy", among others (コサンジ Kosanji in Japanese). While Cassidy is much more domineering than her quieter teammate, the pair equally contribute to fulfiiling their schemes.
Cassidy and Jessie have been bitter rivals since their days at the Team Rocket Academy. The two women are almost equally vain. However, unlike Jessie, Cassidy is better at keeping her cool and is much less prone to violent outbursts. Cassidy annoys Jessie to no end with her arrogance, and it appears that Cassidy likes instigating this frustration by spreading rumors of demotion and Giovanni's dislike for the Team Rocket trio. After leaving Team Rocket, Cassidy's attitude to Jessie changed, as seen when she offered her and her teammates somewhere warm to stay after they got lost and fainted during a snowstorm.

|desc=Raticate was Cassidy's signature Pokémon during the original series. It cannot talk unlike MTR, but it does occasionally say its name at the end of Butch and Cassidy's motto. Also unlike Meowth, Cassidy keeps Raticate in a Poké Ball. | |||
Raticate first became her Pokémon sometime before becoming a recruit in the Team Rocket Academy. In Training Daze, Raticate was with Cassidy and Butch when they tried to steal the red Snorlax, just as they got to it, all three fell down a trap. It was then seen injured when Cassidy and Butch were promoted to "villains in training".
Raticate's first official appearance was in The Breeding Center Secret, where it said its line at the end of Butch and Cassidy's motto. It was later used to battle Ash and his Pikachu just as they were about to be arrested by Officer Jenny. Raticate never got a chance to attack in the battle, as one Thunderbolt was enough to faint it.
In The Fortune Hunters, Raticate was used to battle Totodile, the battle ended in a tie when Jessie, James, and Meowth interupted the match. Cassidy then had Raticate battle James's Victreebel and Jessie's Wobbuffet, with it and Butch's Primeape sending the entire trio blasting off. Raticate then battled Misty and her Misty, but lost when Ash's Pikachu used Thunderbolt once again.
In The Ole' Berate and Switch!, it's revealed that Butch has access to use Cassidy's Raticate. It battled Ash's Pikachu and was defeated by another Thunderbolt.
In The Good, The Bad, and The Lucky!, Raticate was still with Cassidy after she left Team Rocket, helping her in her wood carving hobby.
Raticate's known moves are Tackle, Super Fang*, and Skull Bash.}}

Cassidy (Japanese: ヤマト Yamato) is a recurring character who appeared in the Pokémon anime. She is a former member of Team Rocket who occasionally came across Ash and his friends along with her partner Butch.
In the anime
History
Pre-series
Cassidy was a recruit in the Team Rocket Academy to become an official member of Team Rocket. During a test she took, Cassidy along with Butch and Raticate as her partners have become the top group of trainees in the Blue Team. She and her partners competed with the Red Team on catching the red-colored Snorlax. Even though neither side managed to do so, they were made into official teams for being successful as Villains in-training.
Original series
Cassidy debuted in The Breeding Center Secret. Disguised as a worker in a Five-Star Breeding Center scheme, she and Butch managed to get many Pokémon including Misty's Psyduck and James's Weepinbell. Ash, his friends returned to the Breeding Center to retrieve Psyduck, only to discover the operation was fake and linked to Team Rocket. Todd's camera flash gives the group away, while the thieving Team Rocket trio were also caught by Butch and Cassidy. Butch and Cassidy went on to use Todd's photo's to frame everyone as the villains, and Officer Jenny placed them under arrest. Misty was the only one left, and went on to prove Cassidy and Butch were operating the Breeding Center. Butch and Cassidy were then defeated by Ash's Bulbasaur and got arrested by Officer Jenny.
Cassidy returns in Pikachu Re-Volts where it was revealed that Giovanni bailed the pair out of jail. Using a Drowzee from their fake Breeding Center, they hypnotized the Pokémon on Mandarin Island North into turning against their Trainers. Ash's group collaborated with Officer Jenny, her Gastly who was unaffected by the Hypnosis waves, and the Rocket trio to get the Pokémon back. As the machine was destroyed, all of the possessed Pokémon were free and Butch and Cassidy were arrested again.
Butch and Cassidy opened another fake Day Care in The Fortune Hunters, this time giving away free fortune telling books that will tell each Trainer which Pokémon they represent. Similar to their earlier fake Breeding Centers, Trainers drop of one of their Pokémon off, this time with the belief that the day care owners will help them trade Pokémon. After learning that he was the Moltres type, James felt bold enough to lead the thieving operation. However the Rocket trio were stopped by Butch and Cassidy who revealed themselves and get tied up in the process, only for them to escape. Misty returned to the Day Care to find out about her Pokémon type, but instead discovered the cages full of stolen Pokémon. Cassidy and Butch catch Misty and her friends trying to free the caged Pokémon, and a battle ensues. Butch sends out Primeape which manages to defeat Misty's Staryu. Jessie and James's next attempt to steal from their rivals also fails. Butch then notices Ash's group trying to free the Pokémon. Cassidy and Butch battle them but are defeated. Afterwards, Officer Jenny places them under arrest
Now working alongside Dr. Namba, Cassidy and Butch were assigned to capture a child Lugia spotted near Ogi Isle. In The Mystery is History to A Promise is a Promise Butch and Cassidy succeeded, catching both Silver and its parent to help Dr. Namba perfect his "Rage Crown" invention. By A Parent Trapped!, Ash, his friends and Ritchie were also captured for interfering. Oliver lead the counter-operation, freeing the captives and helping to rescue the two Lugia from Team Rocket's clutches. Meanwhile, Jessie and James also assisted, sinking the submarine operation and blasting Butch and Cassidy off thanks to Wobbuffet's Counter.
Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire and Chronicles
In Pokémon Chronicles, Cassidy becomes a recurring antagonist, often capturing Pokémon for Dr. Namba's R project. However such attempts like at Professor Oak's Laboratory in Showdown at the Oak Corral and stealing Caserin and Luverin from the Cerulean Gym in Luvdisc is a Many Splendored Thing! were thwarted.
In Oaknapped!, the pair kidnapped Professor Oak from Seafoam Island's Television station to learn more about Pokérus. DJ Mary, Tracey and Ritchie manage to trace them down to an abandoned warehouse and send them blasting off.
Cassidy appeared in True Blue Swablu during Meowth's boss fantasy, in which she was shown failing after the trio successfully caught a Swablu.
Cassidy and Butch made cameos in The Scheme Team where they were seen leaving Team Rocket HQ using jet packs.
In The Ole' Berate and Switch!, Cassidy and Butch hosted a fake tournament in Sable City in a ploy to steal the competitors Pokémon.
Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl
In another operation under Dr. Namba, Cassidy and Butch appeared in Sleight of Sand!, where they used their Rhyhorn robot in an attempt to capture a Hippowdon. They first had to contend with Jessie and James's rival Slowbro mecha. However, they were stopped by the other Hippowdon, Hippopotas, Ash, and his friends. Both sides got sent blasting off in the end by Hippowdon's Hyper Beam.
Pokémon Journeys: The Series
Cassidy eventually made James leave after his Morpeko started eating all the food meant for the customers.
Character

Raticate was Cassidy's signature Pokémon during the original series. It cannot talk unlike Meowth, but it does occasionally say its name at the end of Butch and Cassidy's motto.
Raticate then battled Misty and her Poliwhirl, but lost when Ash's Pikachu used Thunderbolt once again.
Raticate's known moves are Tackle, Super Fang*, and Skull Bash.
