Gligar (Japanese: グライガー Gliger) is a dual-type Pokémon.

It evolves into Gliscor via level-up, at night, holding a Razor Fang.
It evolves into Gliscor when leveled up while holding a Razor Fang during the night.

(Specifics may differ in past games. Refer to Game data→Evolution data for these details.)

Biology
Biology
Physiology
Gligar is a purple, Chiroptera Pokémon with scorpion features. Its head and body are round and roughly equal in size. It has long, triangular ears and triangular eyes with small pupils. Two large pointed teeth protrude from its upper jaw, and a pink tongue is often seen lolling from its mouth. Its arms are segmented at the wrists and end in large pincers. Spread between its arms are two blue wing membranes, each tipped with a purple claw. Its legs are thin and likewise segmented at the ankles, with its round feet having one claw each. Gligar has a long tail split into spherical sections, ending in a large, round stinger. The female Gligar will have a smaller stinger than the male.
Gligar is a small, purple, bat-like Pokémon. It has blue wings like a flying squirrel. Gligar has scorpion claws and a tail with a stinger on the end. Gligar has long, pointed ears and triangle-shaped eyes. Gligar could be considered a cousin of Skorupi due to its and scorpion-like traits, however, it shares some bat-like traits as well, making it similar to Zubat.
Gender differences
A female Gligar has a smaller stinger.

Special abilities
As shown in the anime, Gligar feed on Berries and can emit sound waves to detect obstacles and fly around them. It glides smoothly and silently through the air with its limbs extended, and startles its prey and enemies by flying straight toward them. It attacks by clamping onto its enemy's face with its clawed hind legs and pincers, then jabbing it with its poisonous stinger. Gligar itself is Immunity. Gligar lives in List of Pokémon by habitat, making its nest along cliff sides. When it is done gliding, it hops along the ground back to its nest. In Hisui, it is revealed that Gligar can survive even freezing temperatures.
Gligar knows a small handful of Poisonous attacks, such as Poison Sting and the rarely known Cross Poison. Gligar can also use a few Bug moves, like Fury Cutter and U-turn. While Gligar can learn Ground- and Rock moves typical to a Ground Pokémon, its abilities as a Flying are limited. Most notable is the fact that Gligar can't learn Fly.

Also, Gligar and Gliscor are the only two Pokémon that are both Flying and Ground, which gives them a unique resistance to both Electric and Ground moves. This trait is only shared with Vibrava and Flygon due to the ability, Levitate.
Evolution
Gligar evolves into Gliscor.

As shown in Riding the Winds of Change!, Gligar, along with its evolved form Gliscor, can emit a sort of sound wave in order to detect obstacles and fly around them, similar to Animal echolocation.
(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

Behavior
Game data
Gligar tend to ambush prey as it passes by below. They may also be mischievous, as shown in Riding the Winds of Change!, when a group of them were causing trouble in a city they had become trapped in.
NPC appearances
* Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky: Gligar during the Special Episode, Bidoof's Wish, where he and his teammates from Team Rogue attempt to rob Bidoof at the end of Star Cave. They are defeated, however, when members of Wigglytuff's Guild arrive to help Bidoof.
* Super Mystery Dungeon: The same Gligar appears as a recruitable Pokémon, but his quest will only become available upon connecting with Bidoof.

Additionally, both are available as Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon Colosseum, and found in The Under Subway.

*Gligar's colors vary between games and the anime. It is a hot pink in Gold and Silver, a light blue-violet in most sprite artwork and game artwork, blue-purple in Platinum, regular purple in the high-grade console games such as Pokémon Battle Revolution, and powder-pink in the anime.
*Gligar is heavier than its evolution, being 142.9 lbs while Gliscor is only 93.7 lbs.
*Gligar is one of nine non-Bug, Flying Pokémon that cannot learn Fly.
*Gligar is one of few Pokémon who cannot learn any STAB attacks naturally, only via TMs, egg moves and move tutor.
*Gligar is compatible with the Generation III move tutor for Dream Eater, but is incompatible with the TM in Generation IV that teaches the same move.
*The only sprite that doesn't show Gligar with its tongue out is from Emerald. However, this only happens in the second frame of the sprite.

Gligar (Japanese: グライガー Gliger) is a dual-type Ground/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation II.

It evolves into Gliscor when leveled up while holding a Razor Fang during the night.

(Specifics may differ in past games. Refer to Game data→Evolution data for these details.)

Biology

Gligar is a purple, chiropteran Pokémon with scorpion features.

Gligar itself is resistant to opponents' venom. Gligar lives in mountainous regions, making its nest along cliff sides. When it is done gliding, it hops along the ground back to its nest. In Hisui, it is revealed that Gligar can survive even freezing temperatures.

Evolution

Gligar evolves into Gliscor.
