==Biology==
===Physiology===
Bellsprout is a {{wp|plant}}-based {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} with a stem-like brown body. There is a single green leaf on each side of its body. It has a yellow bell-shaped head with what appear to be pink lips at the end and beady black eyes. It is capable of spitting corrosive acid from its mouth. Its stem is long, thin and very flexible, making it capable of swerving rapidly to avoid many attacks or moving with blinding speed to capture prey. Its roots resemble feet, and it uses them as such.
Bellsprout has a skinny body with roots that resemble feet. It has a pair of green leaves for hands and a yellow head shaped like a bell.
====Gender differences====
None.

====Special abilities====
It will plant its roots in the ground to replenish water, but it is unable to flee while it is rooted. Bellsprout prefers hot and humid places, thus it lives in {{DL|List of Pokémon by habitat|Forest Pokémon|temperate forests and jungles}}. As mentioned in [[Pokémon Sleep]], Bellsprout is known to sleep while planting its roots deep in the ground.<ref>[[Sleep style|Sleep Style Dex]]</ref>Because Bellsprout feels so safe while sleeping, it tends to forget that it may need to run from danger.
Despite their small size, Bellsprout are versatile. Their stem is long, thin and very flexible, making then capable of swerving rapidly to avoid many attacks it is weak to. They can use their roots to {{m|Ingrain|replenish moisture and health}} from the ground if they get hit. They can also {{m|Grass Knot|channel their roots through the ground to trip foes}}.

====Name origin====
Bellsprout's name seems to be be a combination of ''bell'', referring to its bell-like head, and ''sprout'', referring to it being relatively young in its evolutionary line. ''Madatsubomi'' can be taken to mean まだ蕾, still (a) flower bud.

Bellsprout (Japanese: マダツボミ Madatsubomi) is a dual-type Grass/Poison Pokémon introduced in Generation I.

It evolves into Weepinbell starting at level 21, which evolves into Victreebel when exposed to a Leaf Stone.

Biology

Bellsprout is a plant-based Pokémon with a stem-like brown body.

It will plant its roots in the ground to replenish water, but it is unable to flee while it is rooted. Bellsprout prefers hot and humid places, thus it lives in temperate forests and jungles. As mentioned in Pokémon Sleep, Bellsprout is known to sleep while planting its roots deep in the ground.[1]Because Bellsprout feels so safe while sleeping, it tends to forget that it may need to run from danger.

Evolution

Bellsprout evolves into Weepinbell, which evolves into Victreebel.

(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)
