(Japanese: シューティー Shooti) is a Pokémon Trainer from the Unova region and a rival of Ash.
History
Shooti was introduced in BW001 as a beginning Trainer ready to choose his first Pokémon. After meeting with Professor Araragi, he chose Snivy as his new partner. Shortly after obtaining it, he challenged Ash Ketchum to a Pokémon battle. He had much interest in battling Pikachu, a species that is foreign in his region. Because Pikachu could not use any Electric attacks, Shooti easily defeated Ash.
Shooti appeared again at a Battle Club in BW010, where he and Ash had a 5 on 5 battle. He offered to have a full battle with Ash, which means that he has access to at least 6 Pokémon. His Hatooboo defeated Ash's Oshawott and Tepig in one hit with its Super Luck-boosted Aerial Ace. Afterwards, Shooti called Ash's Pikachu and Snivy to be so-so, and the rest of his team to be hopeless causes.
Character
Shooti is a Pokémon photographer, in which he takes photos of Pokémon and places with a green digital camera. In BW010, he is also shown to possess a Live Caster.
He is a quiet individual who prefers to keep his emotions to himself and becomes annoyed by Ash's overly-expressive personality, referring to him as a hillbilly and calling Kanto a hillbilly area multiple times. He insults Ash by calling him a weak Trainer. He bears many parallels to Paul.
Despite having just started out as a Trainer, Shooti already implements many strategies in his battling. He has defeated Ash both times that they have battled, despite Ash being a much more experienced Trainer.

Trivia
- Shooti is the first Pokémon photographer in the anime since Todd Snap to appear in the anime.
- Shooti is Ash's third rival whose Japanese name starts with the kana シ shi, the other two being "Shigeru" and "Shinji" respectively.
- Notably "Shū", the Japanese name of May's rival Drew, also starts with this same letter. This makes Shooti the fifth major rival in the anime who's name starts with a シ or a variation of it.
