Psychic (Japanese: サイコキネシス Psychokinesis) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type move introduced in Generation I. It is TM29 in every generation so far. It can be upgraded to the special Z-Move Genesis Supernova by Mew holding Mewnium Z.
Effect
Generation I
Psychic does damage and has a 33.2% chance of lowering the target's Special by one stage.
Generation II onwards
Psychic now has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense by one stage.
Psychic can be used as part of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining an extra appeal point if any of the moves Calm Mind, Confusion or Kinesis was used in the prior turn. It can also be used to start a combination, causing certain moves (Confusion, Future Sight, Kinesis and Teleport) to have their base appeal points doubled if used in the next turn.
