Description This young lady happens to be the head of a detective bureau in Kalos's Lumiose City. Mimi is her friend, not her partner Pokémon.

Emma (Japanese: マチエール Matiere) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. She forms a sync pair with Crobat. The sync pair can be obtained through a limited Poké Fair sync pair scout, and was first available on February 17, 2023. The pair's potential can be upgraded to Masters EX star.png 6★ EX, which unlocks Emma's EX style.

Trivia

  • Despite Mimi coming to Pasio with her, Emma does not form a sync pair with Mimi. She simply says that Mimi is her "very special friend".
  • In her sync pair story, Emma mentions receiving two things from Xerosic: the Crobat she forms a sync pair with and something else that connects them, likely referring to the Expansion Suit.
  • Emma & Crobat were the first Poké Fair-exclusive Poison-type sync pair.
  • All versions of Emma use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon) and victory with them. Those Trainers include Looker and Anabel.

Origin

Emma's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon X and Y. Crobat is a Pokémon that was originally owned by Xerosic, but was later used by Emma under her guise as Essentia and left under her care after his arrest. Crobat's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
