Professor Bellis (Japanese: ヒナギク博士 Dr. Hinagiku) is a Pokémon Professor operating on the artificial island of Pasio. She specializes in the relationship between Pokémon and sync stones, which are required for sync moves. She has the tendency to babble endlessly when the subject of sync pairs arises. She often uses phrases from other languages in her dialogue, including Japanese, French, Spanish, German, and Italian.
One specific focus of her research is the bond formed between members of a sync pair when the Trainer has hatched the Pokémon from an Egg. She sends Eggs to various Trainers across Pasio for them to hatch and potentially form sync pairs with, including the player.

Professor Bellis first appears after the player has teamed up with Brock and Misty. She introduces herself and asks the player to help her with her research into the bond between sync pairs formed with Pokémon hatched from Eggs. She gives the player their choice of an Egg containing a Kanto first partner Pokémon, which hatches after completing a few battles. After that, she will occasionally send the player additional Eggs to hatch and potentially form sync pairs with. The eggs are kept and incubated in her laboratory, as well as the Pokémon produced from the Egg, should the player choose not to take it into their care.
