Description | This Trainer set off on his journey from Kanto’s Pallet Town. He loves to race outside with his partner Pikachu, who is strangely able to use Secret Techniques. |
Chase (Japanese: カケル Kakeru) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. He forms a sync pair with partner Pikachu. This pair was first made available through a Poké Fair sync pair scout beginning on January 31, 2024. This pair can be raised to 6★ EX since it first released.
In the games
History
Chase has experienced similar events to his core series counterpart. Chase received his first partner Pokémon, Pikachu, from Professor Oak. Chase also had help from Elaine while on his journey.
In events
Let's Go for Number One!
While in the city, Chase finds Elaine, along with the player (Scottie or Bettie), and ask why everyone is gather around. Elaine tells him about the time trials, with him asking to join her team. Elaine introduces Chase to the player, mentioning that he's good at running (along with running his mouth), and that they both came from Pallet Town. She also mentions that his Pikachu is unusual like her Eevee, with him mentioning that his Pikachu doesn't like going in its Pokéball and that it can use Secret Techniques. Chase also claims that he is good at Pokémon battles, and that he even helped Elaine while on her journey, to which she claims that she helped him. He then said that they should practice as a team by racing to the square.
After the time trials are over, the player, Elaine, and Chase return to the city to see how they placed. To their shock, they discover that Red's team placed first. Just then, Red and his Pikachu arrive, alongside his teammates Blue and Leaf. Blue commends the player's team for almost reaching their time. After a little more competitive banter, Red, Blue, and Leaf leave. Chase vows that he and his partner will become a better sync pair than Red and Pikachu one day, and he and Pikachu race off towards the sunset.
Electricity Disruptors
During the blackout, Chase lost his Pikachu and wished he could use the Secret Technique Light Up to help find his Partner.

Trivia
- Chase and Elaine are one of two pairs of protagonists where it is unknown which one is based on the player character from their games of origin, the other being Elio and Selene.
- During the Let's Go for Number One! time trial event, both Chase and Elaine claim they helped the other one out in battles while in Kanto. This may be a reference to the co-op feature from Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, which allows two players to battle Trainers together. This may also imply that one is based on the player character, while the other is based on the Support Trainer from the Let's Go! games.
- All versions of Chase use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Red, Leaf, Blue, Elaine, and Professor Oak.
- Chase also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Red, Leaf, Blue, or Elaine in the same team.
Origin
Chase's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!. Pikachu is the first partner Pokémon in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!. In addition, Chase's Pocket Monsters Let's Go! Pikachu Let's Go! Eievui Adventure Start Comic counterpart is depicted with a Pikachu. Pikachu's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
