Lorelei (Japanese: カンナ Kanna) is an Ice Trainer and member of the Indigo Elite Four.
==In the core series games==
Lorelei is the first Trainer of the Kanto Elite Four in Generations I, III, and VII. She is known for her logical, calculated, and cool style of battling. Her Lapras has been with her ever since she was a child. She caught it when she was very young in the Icefall Cave. Misty idolizes her.
In FireRed and LeafGreen, it is revealed that Lorelei grew up on Four Island. She returns to her home to protect the Icefall Cave from Team Rocket during the post-game. She also collects stuffed Pokémon dolls that she keeps in her house on Four Island.
In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, Lorelei appears on 10 when the player is attacked by a group of Team Rocket Grunts and helps them defeat them.
Her whereabouts in Generations II and IV are unknown, as she is no longer a member of the Elite Four, and no mention of her is made, though dialogue present in FireRed and LeafGreen indicates that she may have given up her position among the Elite Four to protect her friends and family in the Sevii Islands. Her spot in the Elite Four is now filled by Will.

==== History ==== | |||
===== Original series =====
Lorelei appeared in The Mandarin Island Miss Match. Her name was changed to Prima in the English dub of the episode. In this episode, the dub referred to Prima as a Pokémon Master rather than an Elite Four member.
While on Mandarin Island South, Tracey learned that Prima will be giving a lecture and battle demonstration there. He also revealed that she has a house on the island and trains there during her sabbaticals. Ash and ashfr had a chance encounter with Prima while sitting down at a café. Misty was very excited, as Prima was her idol. Ash enthusiastically challenged Prima to a battle, but she didn't notice him and instead gravitated towards Misty's Togepi. Prima did, however, invite them to her lecture and demonstration. She watched Ash's match against a Trainer. Prima then stepped in with her Slowbro after Ash's Charizard was being disobedient, allowing Ash to recall him back to his Poké Ball.
Ash and the others went on to attend Prima's demonstration at the Mandarin Stadium and watched her defeat three Trainers in a row. The group then visited her home. After Ash insisted once again, Prima finally agreed to a one-on-one battle. Ash sent out Pikachu and Prima selected her Lorelei, and Ash went on to lose the match. Prima said that Ash had the potential to become great, but needed to find more of his inner strength, since he had forgotten to connect with his Pokémon.
Just then, TRT arrived on the scene, but Prima sent out her Jynx and dealt with them swiftly. Afterwards, she wished the group well and informed Ash that the closest Gym was the Trovita Gym.
Prima and her advice to Ash were mentioned by Misty in Wired for Battle!, where the dub correctly referred to her as an Elite Four member.
====Character==== | |||
Prima takes time out of her busy schedule to relax on Mandarin Island South and admire nature. She claims her strategy in life is to go with the flow like water, but to become as hard as ice in battle.
Prima's skills are highly regarded and she makes frequent appearances in the media, though she is dismissive of her fame and the praise of others. Instead, she mentors up-and-coming Trainers and hosts her own lectures. In particular, she teaches Trainers to find their inner strength and value the connection they have with their Pokémon. She also sells her lectures as tapes, but for expensive prices.

| |||
====History==== | |||
=====Red, Green & Blue=====
Lorelei was briefly seen in A Charizard...and a Champion with her fellow Elite Four, watching the finals of the Pokémon League.
| | |||
=====Yellow===== | |||
Lorelei is a villainess in the Pokémon Adventures manga. She is one of the Elite Four and, along with Bruno, Agatha, and Lance, tried to take over the world and kill all humans who weren't nice to Pokémon. She keeps a small webcam in a cosmetics case to communicate with Agatha and has the ability to make voodoo dolls out of ice. Lorelei was recruited by Agatha when she was little and healed her Seel. Agatha found out that they both hated human's cruelty towards Pokémon, so Lorelei joined the Elite Four.
| | Lorelei froze Red and Sabrina in ice, causing them severe injuries that continued to harm them for several years. She later found Yellow and Bill in Viridian Forest and attacked them with her Dewgong and Cloyster. She used their combined powers to make an "Icicle Spear" to bury the two of them alive but Yellow used Pikachu to study the move from inside its Poké Ball. Yellow read Pikachu's mind and knocked out Cloyster, making the attack useless. Lorelei then gave chase to her and Bill and, once they jumped into a river, Lorelei froze it over. Lorelei then started asking questions about Yellow's power and if she could read Pika's past thoughts. Before these questions were answered, Yellow had Ratty use Hyper Fang through the iceberg and free them. When Lorelei was about to send out her Pokémon once again, Green deflected her Poké Ball and Yellow and Bill got away. Lorelei then contacted Agatha with her cosmetics case about Yellow's ability and proclaims that if Yellow's power grows she will be able to read the past memories of Pika and learn the details of Red and Bruno's battle. She then delegated Yellow as the new target of the Elite Four. | ||
After this, Lorelei had her Shellder and Cloyster attack Celadon City in order to stall Erika.
Green and Sabrina battle Lorelei on Cerise Island. Lorelei used her voodoo dolls to chain Green and Sabrina together and eventually freeze them, just as she had done to Red. The lack of teamwork between Green and Sabrina got Green knocked out (Green was being targeted since she was the one who had humiliated Lorelei in her battle with Yellow). After a while Green woke up and was able to save herself and Sabrina with Blasty before they fell off a cliff. She had her Clefable use Minimize to steal the dolls from Lorelei, having Blasty break the two dolls and inadvertently severing Green's arm in the process. It was then revealed that the whole time her arm was actually Ditty and that getting her arm "cut off" was part of her plan and had Ditty tie her up. Sabrina suffered from lasting injuries caused by Lorelei's ice cuffs. As a result, she and Red were forced to deal with painful wounds for a very long time.
=====FireRed & LeafGreen=====
Lorelei vanished for several years, and only returned when she saved Red and Blue from Team Rocket's Three Beasts in Icefall Cave. Lorelei decided to ally herself with Red and Blue because Team Rocket invaded her home Four Island of the Sevii Islands. She battled against Sird on Seven Island, but was defeated after Sird distracted her with the Unown she had released from the Tanoby Chambers. Lorelei managed to wrap her Jynx's icy breath around Sird's leg, allowing her to track her moves. At the end of the arc, detecting that Sird was nearby, Lorelei attempted to freeze her over as payback for her defeat, but Sird managed to break the ice before she was completely frozen over and escape.

Lorelei makes a cameo appearance in Epilogue, heading to the Battle Frontier aboard the Seagallop ferry.

Lorelei debuts in To the Pokémon League!! as the first Elite Four member who is challenged by Red. She is first seen welcoming Red to the Pokémon League, disguising herself as a teacher. She takes Red to her school and introduces him to her Pokémon. In the school, she gives him and his Pokémon some math assignments and shows them to some plants. After Pikachu managed to get a perfect score on a math assignment, she shows them to the plants and tricks Clefairy by holding a giant magnifying glass by the sun and using the rays to burn Clefairy, with Slowbro shooting water to cool him off. Then, Lorelei decides to serve everyone food. She pulled another trick on Clefairy by hiding her Cloyster in Clefairy's bowl, making him accidentally eat Cloyster. During the physical education class where the Pokémon had to jump over a beam, her Jynx managed to perform it very well and switched the bouncer to make it where Clefairy landed on it. This is where Lorelei revealed herself to be the first member of the Elite Four.
Lorelei had her Pokémon attack Clefairy and Pikachu. However, her Jynx ran off after she failed to immobilize Clefairy and her Lapras and Dewgong were zapped by Pikachu. After the battle, Lorelei and Red shook hands, congratulating Red for a job well done.

Lorelei (Japanese: カンナ Kanna) is an Ice-type Trainer and member of the Indigo Elite Four.
In the core series games
Lorelei is the first Trainer of the Kanto Elite Four in Generations I, III, and VII. She is known for her logical, calculated, and cool style of battling. Her Lapras has been with her ever since she was a child. She caught it when she was very young in the Icefall Cave. Misty idolizes her.
In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, it is revealed that Lorelei grew up on Four Island. She returns to her home to protect the Icefall Cave from Team Rocket during the post-game. She also collects stuffed Pokémon dolls that she keeps in her house on Four Island.
In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, Lorelei appears on Route 10 when the player is attacked by a group of Team Rocket Grunts and helps them defeat them.

History
Original series
Lorelei appeared in The Mandarin Island Miss Match. Her name was changed to Prima in the English dub of the episode. In this episode, the dub referred to Prima as a Pokémon Master rather than an Elite Four member.
While on Mandarin Island South, Tracey learned that Prima will be giving a lecture and battle demonstration there. He also revealed that she has a house on the island and trains there during her sabbaticals. Ash and his friends had a chance encounter with Prima while sitting down at a café.
Ash sent out Pikachu and Prima selected her Cloyster, and Ash went on to lose the match. Prima said that Ash had the potential to become great, but needed to find more of his inner strength, since he had forgotten to connect with his Pokémon.
Just then, Team Rocket arrived on the scene, but Prima sent out her Jynx and dealt with them swiftly. Afterwards, she wished the group well and informed Ash that the closest Gym was the Trovita Gym.
Prima and her advice to Ash were mentioned by Misty in Wired for Battle!, where the dub correctly referred to her as an Elite Four member.
Character
Prima takes time out of her busy schedule to relax on Mandarin Island South and admire nature. She claims her strategy in life is to go with the flow like water, but to become as hard as ice in battle.
Prima's skills are highly regarded and she makes frequent appearances in the media, though she is dismissive of her fame and the praise of others. Instead, she mentors up-and-coming Trainers and hosts her own lectures. In particular, she teaches Trainers to find their inner strength and value the connection they have with their Pokémon. She also sells her lectures as tapes, but for expensive prices.

History
Red, Green & Blue arc
Lorelei was briefly seen in A Charizard...and a Champion with her fellow Elite Four, watching the finals of the Pokémon League.
Yellow arc
She used their combined powers to make an "Ice Spike Cannon" to bury the two of them alive but Yellow used Pikachu to study the move from inside its Poké Ball.
FireRed & LeafGreen arc
Emerald arc
Lorelei makes a cameo appearance in Epilogue, heading to the Battle Frontier aboard the Seagallop ferry.

Pokémon Pocket Monsters

Trivia
- In the novelization of the anime episode where Lorelei appeared, she is still referred to as Prima except for one error near the novelization's ending, where she is called Lorelei.
- Lorelei is the only member of the Kanto Elite Four to not use two Pokémon of the same species at once. Bruno has two Onix, Agatha has two Gengar, and Lance has two Dragonair.
- Lorelei was the first Elite Four member to be seen outside the Pokémon League in the games, appearing outside of the League in Generation III.
- In Generation II, Lance appears outside the Pokémon League. However, he is the Champion rather than an Elite Four member at the time.
- Lorelei is one of few members of any Elite Four to have a home shown in-game, the others being Caitlin, Hala, Olivia, and Acerola.
- In the French localizations of Generation I games, as well as Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, Lorelei is depicted with a stereotypical and prominent German accent.
- In the Generation I core series games, the battles against Lorelei, Bruno, and Agatha use the standard Trainer battle theme, while the Gym Leader battle theme is played only against Lance. In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, the Gym Leader battle theme plays during the battles against all four members of the Elite Four.
- In the Generation III games, all of Lorelei's Pokémon are female during the first battle against her, but during the rematch, they're all male instead, excluding Jynx, which is an all-female species.
- Despite being an Ice-type specialist, Lorelei uses an equal number of Water- and Ice-type Pokémon in her initial teams.
