Between September 9 and September 13, the account tweeted pictures of various characters standing in locations around Pasio, captioned as if they were pictures taken by Naomi, and eventually pictures of Naomi, Sandslash, and Rosa (Special Costume) & Shaymin. Two more tweets were made around the time of the event's ending.
- The account was revived on April 22, 2024, when posts were made saying that Naomi was still on Pasio. Posts the following day revealed that she was having an interview with Rika, coinciding with the release of Rika's reveal trailer. Finally, a picture of Naomi with Rika was posted on April 26, the day that Good Ol' Rika Here began.
- Naomi is the first playable Trainer based on a generic non-playable Trainer class from the core series.
- Naomi may be based on Sightseer Jamie from Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon:
- Jamie uses a Kantonian Sandshrew, the pre-evolved form of Naomi's partner Pokémon.
- Naomi's first sync pair viewer line is identical to what Jamie says upon being defeated.
- Based on the locations and local specialties she mentions having experienced, Naomi has been to every core series region except Johto, Kalos, and Paldea.
Origin
Naomi's design is based on the female Sightseer Trainer class from Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. This Trainer class often uses the Kantonian forms of Pokémon with Alolan forms. Sandslash's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
