Octillery (Japanese: オクタン Okutank) is a Water Pokémon.
}}
Octillery (Japanese: オクタン Okutank) is a Water Pokémon introduced in Generation II.

It evolves from Remoraid starting at level 25.
It evolves from Remoraid starting at level 25.

Biology
Biology
Physiology
Octillery is a red, cephalopod-like Pokémon with large, round eyes and a turret-like mouth. There are yellow bumps on its rock-hard head and yellow suction cups on each of its eight tentacles. These suction cups and yellow bumps are smaller on a female Octillery. It uses its tentacles for manipulating objects and the suction cups give it strong gripping power. Because of this, it is very hard for it to be blown away.
Octillery are red cephalopod Pokémon with yellow bumps on their rock-hard heads and yellow suction cups on each tentacle. They possess 8 tentacles, two of them are used for manipulating objects while the other six don't appear to be used as much aside from a stabilizing role.

Gender differences
Octillery is a relaxed Pokémon who loves fuss from its Trainer. Even though it is more docile when domesticated, it can be very stubborn at times in the wild. It instinctively sneaks into rocky holes or pots, and if it gets sleepy, it steals the nest of a fellow Octillery. When threatened, it will spurt ink from its mouth to cover itself before escaping, allowing it to protect itself and its young from danger. Octillery's ink obscures vision and contains substances that dull predators' sense of smell. Octillery also uses this ink on its prey, before its suction cups hold the prey tightly. Its ink can also be used as a cooking ingredient. Besides ink, Octillery sometimes uses its rock-hard head on its foes. Prior to Generation VIII, Octazooka was its signature move, but other Pokémon could still inherit it via breeding.
Female Octillery have smaller suction cups on their tentacles. The yellow bumps on their head are also smaller.

Special abilities
Octillery is normally found in List of Pokémon by habitat and caves. For a long time, people refused to believe Octillery was an evolution of Remoraid, because of the extreme physical differences between the two. It is thought to be a distant relative to Omastar. In New Pokémon Snap, an Octillery can be seen about to be preyed on by a Seviper.
Octillery is much more powerful than its pre-evolved form, Remoraid, but it happens to be much slower. Octillery's tentacles boast stronger gripping power. It also is capable of using Sludge Bomb, Gunk Shot, Energy Ball, Flash Cannon and Giga Impact.

Octillery is the only known Pokémon that learns Octazooka by leveling up.
Evolution
Octillery evolves from Remoraid.

Trivia
Trivia
* Octillery is the only Water Pokémon whose English name starts with an O.

* Octillery is the only non-Rock Pokémon, aside from Wormadam's Ground form, to learn Rock Blast. It is also the only non-Poison Pokémon to learn Gunk Shot by leveling up.
* The company logo for Galar Fire Station depicts an Octillery.
* In its Generation II back sprite, it is missing its eye. This was corrected in Generation III.
* In the 1997 Nintendo Space World demo of Pokémon Gold and Silver, Octillery's design included a helmet and an armor that make it resemble a tank.
* Octillery is capable of learning 15 different-typed moves, discounting Hidden Power. The only type moves it cannot learn are Dragon and Ghost.

* Octillery's sprite in Platinum has darkened considerably compared to other games. This also happens with Scizor, Wooper, and Quagsire.

Origin
Origin
This Pokémon is based on an octopus. It also has some basis on a tank or a wheeled cannon.
Octillery seems to be based on an octopus. It also has some basis on a tank or a wheeled cannon. Beside the firearm theme, Remoraid and Octillery share the trait of being based on aquatic animals with suction cups.

Name origin
Name origin
Octillery's name is a combination of octopus and artillery, referring to its many attacks with the "Beam" or similar suffixes. This is similar for Okutank, but with tank instead of artillery.

Octillery (Japanese: オクタン Okutank) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II.

It evolves from Remoraid starting at level 25.

Biology

Octillery is a red, cephalopod-like Pokémon with large, round eyes and a turret-like mouth. There are yellow bumps on its rock-hard head and yellow suction cups on each of its eight tentacles. These suction cups and yellow bumps are smaller on a female Octillery. It uses its tentacles for manipulating objects and the suction cups give it strong gripping power. Because of this, it is very hard for it to be blown away.

Octillery is normally found in oceans and caves. For a long time, people refused to believe Octillery was an evolution of Remoraid, because of the extreme physical differences between the two. It is thought to be a distant relative to Omastar. In New Pokémon Snap, an Octillery can be seen about to be preyed on by a Seviper.

Evolution

Octillery evolves from Remoraid.
