Trivia
- Lucas is based on the NPC character from the Sinnoh-based games, as his character description and various lines of dialogue confirm that he is Professor Rowan's assistant from Sandgem Town.
- However, despite Dawn being based on the player character, and Barry being Dawn's rival, Lucas's Infernape is strong against Dawn's first sync pair, and weak to Barry's sync pair.
- Ironically if Lucas' and Dawn's roles were reversed, with Lucas being based on the player character and Dawn being based on Professor Rowan's assistant, then it would match with the games.
- However, despite Dawn being based on the player character, and Barry being Dawn's rival, Lucas's Infernape is strong against Dawn's first sync pair, and weak to Barry's sync pair.
- Lucas is also shown to own an Infernape in Pokémon Evolutions.
Origin
Lucas's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Dialga is a Pokémon that can be caught during the climax of Pokémon Diamond. In addition, Lucas' Pokémon Adventures counterpart befriended Dialga in the manga. Dialga's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Pearl.
Lucas uses a Flareon on his team as Professor Rowan's assistant when battling him in Sandgem Town after entering the Hall of Fame 10 times if the player chose Chimchar as their starter Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Lucas's Flareon may also be based on the Eevee that can be obtained from Bebe at Hearthome City. Flareon's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
