On her debut, Anabel is a resident of the Battle Frontier, and is described to be a mysterious trainer known as the Battle Tower’s Salon Maiden. Residents note her to be particularly focused on one's talent; her first Pokémon team being specifically made to measure the opposing team’s strength. Though she remains enigmatic, she is hinted at being a very strong trainer, capable of completely wiping out a previous challenger on a winning streak. Taking on the Battle Tower challenge, Anabel first appears in the Battle Tower as the 35th opponent the player faces. Her first impressions of the player are skeptical and negative, and she mentions having come to see for herself the player’s talent in its entirety. If she is victorious, she’ll bluntly state her disappointment. Upon her defeat, however, Anabel gives proper acknowledgement to the player’s successful battle and awards them with the Silver Ability Symbol onto the Trainer Card (game).
At the 70th consecutive match, Anabel changes up her Pokémon team to battle all out, vowing that she won't hold back against the player as she did before. When defeated, she confers the player the Gold Ability Symbol in place of the previous silver version. All subsequent rematches afterwards are against this updated team, and she is far more encouraging in tone compared to her previous aloofness, in hopes of seeing the player challenge her again.

| |||
Anabel later returns in Sun and Moon, with a drastically new appearance, additional Pokémon, and having a story role outside of a battle facility for the first time.
Anabel | Ten years prior to the events of Sun and Moon, Anabel was found unconscious on Poni Island by Looker and Nanu, who had just completed a mission for the International Police. She had lost most of her memories and was only able to tell them her name, that she came from Hoenn, that she protected a tower there, and that she was a powerful Trainer. After being placed in the custody of the International Police, they detected incredible amounts of energy coming from her after coming through an Ultra Wormhole, implying that she was a Ultra Wormhole who was lost in a wormhole for a significant amount of time. Anabel was never informed of this, however.
Anabel joined the International Police herself and quickly ascended the ranks, much to the help of Nanu before his retirement, until she became Looker's superior in the UB Task Force; a secret division of the International Police that deals with Ultra Beasts. Anabel maintains a professional demeanor, to the point of training for upcoming assignments on her time off, and regularly thinking about work where she knows she should be taking time to relax. Nevertheless, she is passionate about the work that she does for the UB Task Force and hopes to safeguard the lives of people and Pokémon, especially those of the Ultra Beasts.
While Anabel has little recollection of her time in the Battle Frontier, many of her original traits remain. Though she no longer openly expresses harsh critique, she still measures one’s skill with a battle and praises their innate talent if they’re victorious. She seeks out strong trainers within battle facilities out of self-imposed challenge, regular training, and a lingering sense of nostalgia for the days of her past. Anabel also has the occasional light-hearted moment; lightly teasing her coworker Looker over his eagerness for a feast and acting cheerful, though at times this is meant to mask her exhaustion to keep others from worrying about her.
After | After the player becomes the Champion of Alola, they will meet Anabel and Looker when they visit the 8 motel on Akala Island with the request of recruiting the player to the UB Task Force. It is here that the two reveal the effect of Lusamine’s prior actions in the story: Ultra Beasts have passed through Ultra Wormholes all over Alola, and Anabel personally chose to take on the mission with Looker as her backup. Although one of the task force's duties is to either safeguard or destroy the Ultra Beasts, neither Anabel nor Looker wishes to harm them, so they need the help of the new Champion of Alola to ensure their safe capture. Anabel will battle the player to make certain that they are up to the job, reciting a quote she had said long before during her time as a Frontier Brain. With the player’s victory and recruitment, the group proceeds to track down and catch Ultra Beasts across all four of Alola's islands, and after the player catches the first, Nihilego, Anabel arranges for the player to keep the Ultra Beasts instead of delivering them to the International Police, where there they would end up as research subjects.
Anabel can | During each mission, Anabel's job is to protect nearby populated areas with the assistance of her Pokémon. As the missions continue, however, Anabel starts to show signs of fatigue. Apparently, the Ultra Beasts are being drawn to her strongly as a Faller and becoming extremely aggressive toward her, which is only exacerbated when there are multiple of them that can assail her simultaneously. She constantly rejects Looker’s appeals for him to take her place, expressing that this is part of her duty and that she cannot allow Looker to face danger without a partner Pokémon alongside him. During the final mission however, Looker finally misdirects her away from the action so that she can recover her strength.
In {{ | After all of the Ultra Beasts have been caught, the International Police HQ grants Anabel and Looker paid leave until they receive their next orders. Anabel plans to go meet with Nanu again and then spend her time sightseeing around Alola. She can then later be encountered again as a Trainer in the Battle Tree, primarily using Pokémon from her original roster in Emerald.
====Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon====
In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Anabel appears with Looker in Poni Plains. The two block the way to Poni Coast until the UB incident at Poni Grove is resolved, at which point Anabel leaves to go to the Battle Tree for training. It is mentioned that in these games, Anabel and Looker are on vacation in Alola instead of being there for a mission.
===Appearance=== | |||
====Pokémon Emerald====
| |||
Whilst her age is unknown, a young boy in the Battle Frontier refers to her as "an older girl." Anabel is a tall, thin girl with long arms and legs. Her skin is of a light complexion, with lilac-colored eyes and hair, being short on top. In her artwork, she wears a white, segmented jacket with a large collar and golden highlights; the bottom half sporting three golden buttons, and stopping just around her waist. The sleeves of this jacket are long and of a sheer, see-through material, with a slight lilac color. They taper out towards the bottom, with small white cuffs around Anabel's wrists. Below, she wears lilac-colored pants with a similarly gold-colored cuff towards the ankles, above white socks and black shoes; with the soles being colored gold.
Anabel's in-game assets largely match these colors, but differ depending on the system model that the game is being played on, to compensate for the lack of a backlight. She goes from a consistent lilac to a deeper, more vibrant purple, in spite of her Japanese name; リラ Lila. This is even more apparent with Anabel's overworld sprite, which appears a dark pink due to palette limitations. Compared to her official artwork, Anabel's shoes are lilac as opposed to black, due to palette restrictions. Unlike most other characters in the game, she lacks eye-whites.

In concept art for Pokémon Sun and Moon, Anabel is depicted as an adult woman standing at 5’5’’. In comparison to her debut, her appearance has undergone a drastic overhaul, especially regarding Anabel's stature, outfit, and hairstyle. Her hair has a much more even cut and flow; her bangs perfectly aligned, while longer strands of hair fall just short of reaching her chin, cupping her right cheek. Her long hair, tied into a ponytail with a small black bow-shaped ribbon, reaches down all the way to her waist and curls into itself at the base. Her eye shape is far more rounded and smaller than her original appearance, with bolder and emphasized eyelashes. The International Police attire she wears consists of a typical black suit and tie, along with black gloves and black heeled boots. Each glove has two buttons on the back of the hand, whilst each boot has two buttons on each side that faces outward. In her left ear is a teal-green communicator, though she has never been seen using it within the games.
Having appeared in a 3D animated setting for the first time, a lot more of Anabel’s personality is reflected through her stance and body language when in-battle. She often stands with her arms crossed, occasionally bringing a hand to her chin in contemplation. When she commands her Pokémon, Anabel will only move her right hand to snap her fingers before returning to her original position.

===Pokémon=== | ===Pokémon===
Due to being a Frontier Brain, Anabel posses a variety of Pokémon, including some Legendary Pokémon. Her Snorlax appears in both teams in Emerald, and later reappears in Generation VII, both in story battles and in the Battle Tree. According to Pokémon Masters EX, this Snorlax is considered her first partner, and has appeared in all games she had made an appearance herself in.
During the Looker Episode, all of Anabel's non-Legendary Pokémon that she uses in the Battle Tower return, with the addition of three new Pokémon since her appearance in Emerald, being Mismagius, Salamence, and Weavile. At the Battle Tree, her Legendary Pokémon once again become part of the potential roster of Pokémon she can use, with the inclusion of Lucario.

Anabel (Japanese: リラ Lila) was the Frontier Brain in charge of running the Battle Frontier's Battle Tower under the title of Salon Maiden (Japanese: タワータイクーン Tower Tycoon). In Generation VII, Anabel is an International Police officer working with Looker.

Character and role
Pokémon Emerald
On her debut, Anabel is a resident of the Battle Frontier, and is described to be a mysterious trainer known as the Battle Tower’s Salon Maiden.[4] Residents note her to be particularly focused on one's talent; her first Pokémon team being specifically made to measure the opposing team’s strength.[5] Though she remains enigmatic, she is hinted at being a very strong trainer, capable of completely wiping out a previous challenger on a winning streak.[6] Taking on the Battle Tower challenge, Anabel first appears in the Battle Tower as the 35th opponent the player faces. Her first impressions of the player are skeptical and negative, and she mentions having come to see for herself the player’s talent in its entirety. If she is victorious, she’ll bluntly state her disappointment. Upon her defeat, however, Anabel gives proper acknowledgement to the player’s successful battle and awards them with the Silver Ability Symbol onto the Frontier Pass.
At the 70th consecutive match, Anabel changes up her Pokémon team to battle all out, vowing that she won't hold back against the player as she did before.[7] When defeated, she confers the player the Gold Ability Symbol in place of the previous silver version. All subsequent rematches afterwards are against this updated team, and she is far more encouraging in tone compared to her previous aloofness, in hopes of seeing the player challenge her again.
She is one of the two known Tower Tycoons, the other one being Palmer of the Battle Tower in the Sinnoh region.
Pokémon Sun and Moon
Anabel later returns in Pokémon Sun and Moon, with a drastically new appearance, additional Pokémon, and having a story role outside of a battle facility for the first time.
Ten years prior to the events of Sun and Moon, Anabel was found unconscious on Poni Island by Looker and Nanu, who had just completed a mission for the International Police. She had lost most of her memories and was only able to tell them her name, that she came from Hoenn, that she protected a tower there, and that she was a powerful Trainer. After being placed in the custody of the International Police, they detected incredible amounts of energy coming from her after coming through an Ultra Wormhole, implying that she was a Faller who was lost in a wormhole for a significant amount of time.
After the player becomes the Champion of Alola, they will meet Anabel and Looker when they visit the Route 8 motel on Akala Island with the request of recruiting the player to the UB Task Force.
During each mission, Anabel's job is to protect nearby populated areas with the assistance of her Pokémon.
After all of the Ultra Beasts have been caught, the International Police HQ grants Anabel and Looker paid leave until they receive their next orders. Anabel plans to go meet with Nanu again and then spend her time sightseeing around Alola. She can then later be encountered again as a Trainer in the Battle Tree, primarily using Pokémon from her original roster in Emerald.
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Anabel appears with Looker in Poni Plains. The two block the way to Poni Coast until the UB incident at Poni Grove is resolved, at which point Anabel leaves to go to the Battle Tree for training. It is mentioned that in these games, Anabel and Looker are on vacation in Alola instead of being there for a mission.
Appearance
Pokémon Emerald
Whilst her age is unknown, a young boy in the Battle Frontier refers to her as "an older girl."[8] Anabel is a tall, thin girl with long arms and legs.

Generation VII
Pokémon
Due to being a Frontier Brain, Anabel posses a variety of Pokémon, including some Legendary Pokémon. Her Snorlax appears in both teams in Pokémon Emerald, and later reappears in Generation VII, both in story battles and in the Battle Tree.

Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire
Anabel debuted in Talking a Good Game!. Ash and Pikachu met her when they were chased by an angry Beedrill. Anabel quickly calmed Beedrill down after speaking to it, much to Ash's surprise. The pair soon came across a rampaging Gyarados, and Anabel once again showed off her empathy abilities to settle it down. Team Rocket soon ambushed the duo in an attempt to steal Pikachu, but it soon turned into a battle, which Anabel won after having her Alakazam confuse Team Rocket's Pokémon. May, Max, and Brock later caught up with Anabel and Ash, and Anabel escorted everyone to her home to get changed out of their wet clothes. There, they learned that Anabel was actually a girl.
The group then quickly rushed off to the Battle Tower, but were shocked to learn that Anabel was also the Salon Maiden, who Ash was supposed to challenge for his next Symbol. Ash lost his first match to Anabel after her powerful Alakazam managed to defeat his Corphish and Tauros, consecutively. Pikachu, however, was able to defeat Alakazam in the next round. Anabel then sent out her Metagross, and it knocked Pikachu out with a Hyper Beam.
Anabel reappeared in Second Time's the Charm!. Ash once again disturbed a group of Beedrill as he trained with his Pokémon. Tauros was stung and knocked its Trainer and Anabel into a nearby lake, but she quickly shrugged off the incident. While lunch was ruined because of Team Rocket, Anabel tried to teach Ash and May about her psychic powers, but to no avail.
Ash later had his rematch against Anabel. Corphish was able to defeat Alakazam after Ash listened to it and quickly returned it to its Poké Ball before sending Corphish back out again to overcome its confusion. Corphish lost in the next round, and after an exchange of strengths between Tauros and Metagross, the battle ended in a draw. In the final round, Anabel's Espeon was able to shadow Pikachu's moves and overwhelm his Thunderbolt with a more powerful Zap Cannon. However, Pikachu caused the facility to have a power outage and used the darkness to strike Espeon. Pikachu concluded the match with a Volt Tackle, earning Ash the Ability Symbol.
Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl
She reappeared during a flashback in A Pyramiding Rage!.
Character
Unique to only the anime, Anabel has the empathic ability to sense the emotions of living beings and communicate with them. She also shares a particularly strong bond with her Pokémon, and is seemingly able to command them telepathically. Without the vocal commands as a cue, Ash initially struggled to compete against Anabel.
Also contrary to the games, where she has no specific type she specializes in, Anabel is an expert at training Psychic-type Pokémon, whose powers she uses to confuse her opponent's Pokémon or control incoming attacks. Her Pokémon also know some physical moves like Meteor Mash, making them equally effective in direct confrontations.

Anabel first called on Alakazam in Talking a Good Game! to help her and Ash when they were attacked by Team Rocket. Alakazam was able to defeat them with its powerful Psychic attack. Ash then realized that Anabel was a Frontier Brain and that he would have to battle Alakazam. Ash chose Corphish for that match. In the end, Alakazam easily defeated Corphish and Tauros before finally being defeated by his Pikachu, but it was able to weaken it beforehand.
In Second Time's the Charm!, Ash had a rematch with Anabel. Again, she chose Alakazam as her first Pokémon. It went head to head against Corphish once again, but this time, Alakazam was defeated by Corphish's Bubble Beam after Ash found a way to overcome Corphish's confusion.
Alakazam's known moves are Psychic, Psybeam, Focus Punch, and Recover.

Espeon, Anabel's favorite Pokémon, was seen during Ash's rematch against her, where it battled Pikachu. Even though Espeon initially managed to overwhelm Pikachu with its speed and power, one of Pikachu's Thunderbolts turned the lights off, making it impossible for both Anabel and Espeon to see where the next attack was coming from. This cost some critical hits for Espeon, and Pikachu was finally able to defeat the Sun Pokémon with a Volt Tackle, winning the match for Ash and earning him the Ability Symbol.
It also reappeared in a flashback in A Pyramiding Rage!.
Espeon's known moves are Quick Attack, Iron Tail, Zap Cannon*, and Psychic.

History
Emerald arc
Anabel is one of the seven Trainers hired by Scott to be a Frontier Brain at the Battle Frontier. Anabel is first seen watching the Battle Frontier's opening ceremony. The ceremony is interrupted by Emerald, who announces that he wishes to conquer the Battle Frontier. The press mistakenly report the incident as allowing an ordinary Trainer to take part in the Battle Frontier before it officially opens a week later. The Frontier Brains decide to use this assumption as free publicity and allow Emerald to challenge the Battle Frontier under the condition that he completes it before it officially opens.
Later, while Emerald is challenging the Battle Pyramid, Noland is attacked by an unknown assailant and several rental Pokémon are stolen. After Noland is taken to a hospital, the other Frontier Brains begin to suspect Emerald as the culprit. They head to the Battle Pyramid to confront Emerald and find him after having defeated Brandon. When they ask him about what happened, Emerald reveals that he did not attack Noland and is actually after the Mythical Pokémon Jirachi. The Frontier Brains find Emerald's explanation suspicious, but decide to follow him into Artisan Cave, where Jirachi is currently located at. Upon arriving, everyone is attacked by a horde of wild Smeargle while Emerald continues inside to find Jirachi. After the Frontier Brains get past the Smeargle, they meet up with Emerald, who has managed to find Jirachi. Emerald attempts to capture Jirachi, but is attacked by Guile Hideout, the actual culprit who attacked Noland. When Jirachi runs off, Emerald attempts to pursue it, only to be attacked by the rental Pokémon Guile had stolen. The other Frontier Brains attempt to avenge Noland by attacking Guile, but are swiftly defeated.
Anabel applauds Emerald for focusing on his mission instead of staying behind to fight and offers to fight Guile while he focuses on capturing Jirachi. Using Raikou's control over lightning, Anabel manages to trap Guile in a cage of electricity. Emerald attempts to use this chance to capture Jirachi, but Guile uses his sword to destroy the Poké Ball and breaks free from the cage. Jirachi takes this chance to flee, forcing Guile to escape as well to continue his pursuit of it. Injured from the battle, everyone decides to return to the Battle Frontier. When they meet up with Scott again, he reveals that he was aware of Guile and Emerald's true mission the entire time. Scott states that he withheld the information from the Frontier Brains to help them get stronger as they still would have lost even if they had known of Guile beforehand.
The next day, Anabel watches the tournament being hosted at the Battle Dome, where Emerald is challenging to obtain his fifth Symbol. As Emerald battles Tucker in the finals, Scott asks Anabel to talk with him somewhere else. This Scott is revealed to be a disguised Guile, who puts Anabel under mind control. After this, Guile returns to the Battle Dome, where he manages to find and capture Jirachi. Guile uses the rental Pokémon to attack innocent bystanders and heads to the Battle Tower to make his wish. Emerald, Noland, Ruby, and Sapphire all head to the Battle Tower to stop Guile, but are forced to traverse the Battle Tower's seventy floors and challenge Anabel on the final floor. Emerald manages to get to Anabel first, but is defeated by the time everyone else arrives.
The stress of the mind control eventually causes Anabel to pass out, forcing Guile to use her as a hostage in order to force Noland to give him the Jirachi Report, which contains the secrets of how to make Jirachi grant his wish. When Noland is unsure about what to do, Guile attacks him and takes the report by force. Now knowing Jirachi's secret, Guile has Jirachi create a gigantic Kyogre made of seawater and uses it to flood the entire Battle Frontier. Anabel is taken to safety by Latios and later awakens to help the Frontier Brains fight off Guile's rental Pokémon while Emerald and the other Pokédex holders fight Guile. Eventually, Emerald and the Pokédex holders manage to defeat Guile and destroy the gigantic Kyogre monster. The day after, an injured Anabel and the other Frontier Brains congratulate Emerald for the hard work he put into saving everyone. Anabel then awards Emerald the Ability Symbol for his skills in traversing the Battle Tower.
Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc
Anabel and the other Hoenn Frontier Brains battle and defeat the Admins of Neo Team Magma and Neo Team Aqua, who had interfered in the launch of a rocket that was made to stop the meteoroid threatening to destroy the world. Once finished, Anabel is contacted by Emerald, who asks if any of the Frontier Brains had seen Sapphire in the area. When the Brains deny seeing Sapphire, Emerald thanks them and leaves. Later, Anabel and the other Hoenn Frontier Brains are called to Sootopolis City to assist in stopping the meteoroid.
Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon arc
It was revealed that Anabel had become a member of the International Police. She, along with Looker first appear investigating Po Town, where several Ultra Beasts had appeared before breaking out and wreaking havoc on Ula'ula Island. Shortly after arriving, Anabel and Looker meet with Sun and Moon, a pair of children who had previously faced the Ultra Beasts. While she questioned Sun and Moon about the beasts, Anabel had Looker go off to investigate the rampaging beasts to find information on them as well. After receiving the information, Anabel sent out her Mismagius to battle Blacephalon, another Ultra Beast that emerged from an Ultra Wormhole.
Together with Sun, Anabel managed to stun Blacephalon long enough to throw a Poké Ball at it, but Blacephalon immediately breaks out, confirming that regular Poké Balls do not work on Ultra Beasts. Blacephalon retaliates by using Mind Blown on the group, forcing Anabel to get everyone out of the way. Anabel and the others are saved by Tapu Bulu, the guardian deity of Ula'ula Island, who used a large gust of wind to blow both Blacephalon and its attack far away. As Sun and Moon feed a Mirage Berry to Tapu Bulu to befriend it, Anabel speculates that there must be a man hiding in Alola capable of making Poké Balls that are able to capture Ultra Beasts.
Later, Anabel, Sun, and Moon head towards Poni Island. Anabel revealed to Sun and Moon that Xurkitree and Blacephalon are also making their way to Poni. Due to Poni not having an island kahuna, there would be no one capable enough of protecting the island from the two beasts. Sun, more fixated on delivering the next Mirage Berry to Tapu Fini, decided to head off and find someone who can help him search for it. After docking on Poni, Anabel and Moon arrived at Seafolk Village, which had been evacuated due to the Ultra Beasts' attacks. Worried that some injured people may still be there, Anabel requested to Moon that she help heal any hurt civilians. As they walked through Poni Wilds, Moon asked Anabel how she knew the names of the Ultra Beasts. Anabel then revealed that she knew because she is a Faller, a human who had passed through an Ultra Wormhole.
Later, Anabel and Moon traveled to Vast Poni Canyon, where they witnessed Faba battling Plumeria. Anabel confronted Faba about the Aether Foundation's involvement with the Ultra Beasts' appearance in Alola. Worried that his plans could be jeopardized, Faba has his Aether Foundation Employees battle against Anabel and Moon, hoping the distraction would give him the chance to escape. Anabel used her Pokémon to keep the Employees busy while she, Moon, and Plumeria followed Faba. As he approached the Poni Altar, Faba revealed he was aware of his pursuers and proceeded to attack them while assisted by more Employees. During the battle, Moon was grabbed by Tapu Koko and taken to the Poni Altar.
Later, Anabel managed to defeat and capture Faba. After meeting with Gladion, Lillie, and Hapu, the four traveled to the Altar, where they found that Sun and Moon managed to summon Solgaleo and Lunala, the Legendary Pokémon of the Alola region. After explaining what Solgaleo and Lunala are and their connection with Cosmog, Anabel received a call from Looker, who reported that a large number of Ultra Beasts emerged from Po Town and have made their way to Poni Island. Anabel teamed up with Moon, Gladion, and Hapu to fend off the attacking beasts. Later, a larger than usual wormhole opened at the Altar, which Anabel noted was caused by the Blinding One. A hand emerged from the wormhole and grabbed Solgaleo, taking control of its body. The possessed Solgaleo captured Sun with its tail and jumped into the wormhole while Moon and Nebby followed after it.
Pokémon

Mismagius is Anabel's second known Pokémon. It was first used to battle a Blacephalon at Po Town alongside Sun's Alolan Meowth, Cent. Together, they managed to stun it long enough for Anabel to attempt a capture, but the Ultra Beast broke out of the Poké Ball easily.
Mismagius's known moves are Magical Leaf and Phantom Force.
Salamence is Anabel's third known Pokémon. It was first seen keeping Anabel and Moon in the air while they confronted Faba at Vast Poni Canyon.
None of Salamence's moves are known.
Alakazam is Anabel's fourth known Pokémon. It was first used to battle a group of Aether Foundation Employees at Vast Poni Canyon.
None of Alakazam's moves are known.
Snorlax is Anabel's fifth known Pokémon. It was first used to battle a group of Aether Foundation Employees at Vast Poni Canyon.
None of Snorlax's moves are known.
Weavile is Anabel's sixth known Pokémon. It was first used to battle a group of Aether Foundation Employees at Vast Poni Canyon.
None of Weavile's moves are known.

- Main article: Legendary beasts (Adventures) → Raikou
Anabel caught this Raikou after it was released following the battle against the Masked Man. She is said to have captured this Legendary Pokémon during her trip somewhere in Johto. Raikou has been with her since then and she continues to rely on it for all of her battles. Because it carries a large thundercloud on its back, it both allows a handier usage of its trademark Thunder as well as strengthen it.
Pokémon Battle Frontier
Anabel first appeared in Introducing the Frontier Brains!, disguised as a photographer. She took a picture of Enta's Vulpix and Feebas. She told Enta about the Frontier Brains after Rald was defeated by her, prompting him to challenge them in order to discover which one defeated Rald.
After Enta defeated his sixth Frontier Brain, Lucy, he was told that the seventh one is none other than Anabel herself, much to his surprise. Enta's battle with Anabel ended up in a draw after a showdown between Ninetales and Entei.
Pokémon
Entei was the first revealed Pokémon. It was the final Pokémon that went up against Enta after both sides were down to one Pokémon. It battled Ninetales and managed to dodge many of its attacks. In the end, despite putting up a great fight, it ended up defeating Ninetales and got knocked out in the process.
Entei's known moves are Double Team and Fire Blast*.
Alakazam was the first opponent who battled Enta. It went up against Zangoose and won using its speed. Alakazam then went up against Milotic where it was taken out by Milotic's Hydro Pump.
None of Alakazam's moves are known.
Snorlax was the second opponent that battled Enta. Snorlax battled Milotic after Milotic defeated Alakazam. Due to Milotic's previous opponent, Snorlax was able to take it out with Body Slam. Snorlax then battled Ninetales and was easily defeated by Ninetales's Hyper Beam.
Snorlax's only known move is Body Slam.

Trivia
- In the Japanese version of Pokémon Emerald, she uses the first-person personal pronoun 僕 boku, a pronoun which is primarily used by males; when used by females, it is associated with tomboys.
- As of Pokémon Sun and Moon, she uses the pronoun 私 watashi.
- In some languages, Anabel is the only Frontier Brain whose title does not incorporate the second word of their facility's name. However, the Battle Salon is an actual room in a Battle Tower where Trainers can meet each other and team up to participate in Multi Battles.
- In the anime, Anabel's Espeon knows Zap Cannon, a move it could not learn in the games during Generation III. It could learn this move in Generation II, but it can't be transferred to Generation III due to the games being incompatible.
- Similar to Ingo, Anabel debuted as a battle facility leader and was later transported to another region, losing most of her memories in the process.
- The anime is the only medium where Anabel has appeared without her Snorlax.
