Trivia
- Hala is the only Trainer whose Pokémon's type doesn't match their Trainer's specialty type in any of their skins. Crabominable's type is Ice, despite Hala being a Fighting-type expert.
- Hala's appearance in the Champion Stadium is a reference to him being a member of Alola's Elite Four in Pokémon Sun and Moon.
- Hala & Crabominable are the only sync pair whose expedition skill corresponds to a theme skill they are not associated with. Their expedition skill is Fiery ↑ 1 Wistful ↑ 1, which is otherwise only given to Gym Leaders.
Origin
Hala's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Crabominable is Hala's signature Pokémon at the Pokémon League, while in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it serves the same role during the post-game rematch against him. Crabominable's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
