• Naomi is the first playable Trainer based on a generic non-playable Trainer class from the core series.
• Naomi may be based on Sightseer Jamie from Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon:
  • Jamie uses a Kantonian Sandshrew, the pre-evolved form of Naomi's partner Pokémon.
  • Naomi's first sync pair viewer line is identical to what Jamie says upon being defeated.

Origin

Naomi's design is based on the female Sightseer Trainer class from Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. This Trainer class often uses the Kantonian forms of Pokémon with Alolan regional forms. Sandslash's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
