Effect

Held item

Grants moves a chance of causing the target Pokémon to flinch when using one of several moves. This chance is affected by Serene Grace and the rainbow created by Fire Pledge and Water Pledge. Before Generation V, King's Rock worked on moves according to the list below. As of Generation V, it affects any attacking move that doesn't already flinch the target.

Grants moves a 10% chance of causing the target Pokémon to flinch when using a move without an added effect.

Generation IV

Grants moves a 10% chance of causing the target Pokémon to flinch when using one of the following moves.

Pokémon GO

The King's Rock was added to Pokémon GO on Feb. 16, 2017.

The King's Rock is required to evolve certain Pokémon:

Level 10 and higher players can obtain the King's Rock by searching PokéStops. While normally rare, players have reported finding the King's Rock and other evolution items more frequently when obtaining the bonus for searching a PokéStop for the 7th day in a row, or when obtaining the bonus for searching 10 different PokéStops in a row.

In the anime
