Trivia

  • The Japanese name of this move, かたきうち (Katakiuchi), refers to a practice common of samurai families during the Edo period, where a samurai was allowed by law to avenge the murder of a direct family member (such as a parent or older sibling), as a form of justice.[1] This may explain its move animation from Generation VI onward.
  • This move was possibly intended to be a Dark-type move. A remnant of this is present in the Japanese versions of Black and White, with TM67 being erroneously shown as a Dark-type TM.
