Description | This mysterious Trainer journeyed throughout the Hoenn region to carry out her mission as the Lorekeeper of the Draconid people. |
Zinnia (Japanese: ヒガナ Higana) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series. She forms a sync pair with Rayquaza, which is capable of Mega Evolving after acquiring its Power Boost from the villain event Team Aqua's Stormy Seas. This sync pair was first made available on January 30, 2020. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX from July 29, 2022, which unlocks Zinnia's EX style. However, unlike most sync pairs, this pair cannot be upgraded with Champion Spirits—only Custom Legendary Spirits from the villain event Team Magma's Red-Hot Rage can be used.
Zinnia also forms a sync pair with Salamence. This sync pair was first made available on May 31, 2021. This pair could be raised to 6★ EX beginning on March 29, 2023, though this pair lacks an EX style.
Zinnia in her Special Costume forms a sync pair with her Thievul. This pair can be obtained through a limited costume sync pair scout and was first made available on April 13, 2023. This pair could be raised to 6★ EX since its release.

Trivia
Origin
Zinnia's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. While Zinnia does not own a Rayquaza in the core series games, they both play a notable role during Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's Delta Episode, where Rayquaza is also seen Mega Evolving. Rayquaza's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Omega Ruby.
Salamence is Zinnia's signature Pokémon in the core series games. Salamence's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
Zinnia's Special Costume seems to be inspired by Arsène Lupin, a famous fictional phantom thief who is often portrayed wearing a top hat and a monocle. Lupin has had encounters with Sherlock Holmes, which parallels Steven's Special Costume. Zinnia is not seen owning a Thievul outside this game. Thievul's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Sword.
