Generation II
By levelling up
Twister inflicts damage and has a 20% chance of causing each target to flinch. It will hit all adjacent opponents in battles featuring multiple Pokémon.

Generation III
Project MoveDex notice
Twister is now affected by King's Rock.

Generation IV
If Twister hits a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly or Bounce, its power will now be doubled instead of the damage dealt (resulting in virtually the same effect).

Generation V onwards
Twister can now hit a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly, Bounce and Sky Drop, and if it does, will deal double the damage (rather than double in power).

Twister will knock down Berries growing on Berry trees found in the background of battles.

Twister is no longer affected by King's Rock.

Generation VIII
Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Twister targets only one Pokémon, like all other moves in this game. It lowers the target's action speed.

UNITE
In Pokémon UNITE, Twister is Dragonite's first move as Dratini. The move creates a twister and releases it in the designated direction, dealing damage to enemies hit and decreases their movement speed for a short time. After evolving into Dragonair at level 5 it is replaced by either Dragon Dance or Extreme Speed.

Trivia
* The Japanese name of Twister, たつまき (竜巻) Tatsumaki, literally means "dragon spiral", and refers to the belief that dragons spiral around themselves to form the shapes of twisters.
* At 40 base power, Twister has the second lowest base power of all Dragon moves after Scale Shot.
* In French, the Lake of Outrage is named after this move.

Twister (Japanese: たつまき Twister) is a damage-dealing Dragon-type move introduced in Generation II.

Effect

Generation II

Twister inflicts damage and has a 20% chance of causing each target to flinch. It will hit all adjacent opponents in battles featuring multiple Pokémon.

Twister can hit a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly and Bounce, and if it does, will deal double the damage.

Generation III
