Bea (Japanese: サイトウ | Bea (Japanese: サイトウ Saitō) is a martial arts who is the Gym Leader of Stow-on-Side's Gym, known officially as Stow-on-Side Stadium. She specializes in Fighting Pokémon. She gives the Fighting to Trainers who defeat her. Bea is the fourth Gym Leader Galarian Trainers face in their Gym Challenge in Sword and Shield. Like most of the other Gym Leaders, she's initially introduced during the Gym Challenge opening ceremony at the Motostoke Stadium. She can later be encountered and battled at her Gym. She also serves as the player's second opponent in the Champion Cup Finals.
Bea is the fourth Gym Leader [[Galar
Bea is the known as the Galar karate prodigy, having inherited the centuries-old traditions and techniques from her parents. She is also an expert on Fighting Pokémon. From a young age, Bea rigorously trained with her Pokémon under the watchful and strict eye of her parents. As a result, she developed a stoic personality that perseveres even during dire situations in Pokémon battles. She tries her best to go all out, even when defeat seems imminent. Many believe she has lost the ability to experience emotions, but truthfully, she doesn't want to show any weakness. In battle, though, Bea will sometimes reveal her true feelings to the partner Pokémon she knows and trusts. She also has a secret love of various sweets. However, she has a hard time enjoying them due to the attention from her fans.
After Bea's initial defeat, the player is awarded with the Fighting, 42, and the Fighting Uniform.

Through the strict training she endured from a very young age, Bea has developed discipline and a strong work ethic in both karate and Pokémon battles. She is also willing to push herself to the extreme in the name of self-betterment and improvement and expects the same of her Pokémon, but isn't above admitting she went too far if necessary. She has a soft spot for sweets and, though concealing her emotions during matches, feels strongly about many things and is known to show a more open side to her partner Pokémon.

Bea debuted in Shocking!! Reunion in the Forest. Unlike the games, she and Allister alternate on who runs the Stow-on-Side Stadium as its Gym Leader. She was first heard talking to Melony over the phone about Bede's forced withdrawal from the Gym Challenge.
In Chomp!! It's Dracovish, it was revealed that Bea had battled Marnie and lost to her, despite the type advantage her Pokémon had against Marnie's Morpeko.
In Rumble!! The Horrific Darkest Day, the Gym Leaders gathered at Rose Tower to find out if Rose intended on bringing harm to Galar. While Oleana kept the Gym Leaders busy, Henry, Casey, Bede, Hop, and Marnie went up to meet Rose, only to discover he was elsewhere. Rose appeared on a video screen and announced his plan to restart the Darkest Day and ensure the safety of Galar's future. Power Spot lights began appearing all over the region, causing Pokémon to start Dynamaxing at random. Bea traveled to the Hammerlocke Energy Plant with the others, but decided to head back to Stow-on-Side with Allister to help deal with the rampaging Dynamax Pokémon.
In GRRR!! The Irrepairable Gears, Macro Cosmos employees were dispatched to deal with the Dynamax Pokémon, allowing Bea's group to provide backup for the others against Eternatus. By the time they arrived, Bea's group found Eternatus had fled, leaving those who battled it unconscious and covered in poison. The injured were taken to a hospital to recover.
By PASS40, the others had fully recovered from Eternatus's poison and were discharged from the hospital. After traveling to the Isle of Armor and reuniting with Casey's group, Bea and Melony chose to stay behind and help fight off the Darkest Day, which had begun once again.

Bea (Japanese: サイトウ Saitō) is a martial artist who is the Gym Leader of Stow-on-Side's Gym, known officially as Stow-on-Side Stadium. She specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon. She gives the Fighting Badge to Trainers who defeat her. In Pokémon Shield, Allister takes her place as Stow-on-Side's Gym Leader instead.
In the core series games
Bea is the fourth Gym Leader Galarian Trainers face in their Gym Challenge in Pokémon Sword. Like most of the other Gym Leaders, she's initially introduced during the Gym Challenge opening ceremony at the Motostoke Stadium. She can later be encountered and battled at her Gym. She also serves as the player's second opponent in the Champion Cup Finals.
Bea is the known as the Galar karate prodigy, having inherited the centuries-old traditions and techniques from her parents.[5] She is also an expert on Fighting-type Pokémon.
After Bea's initial defeat, the player is awarded with the Fighting Badge, TM42 (Revenge), and the Fighting Uniform.
League Cards
This is a transcript of the back of Bea's League Cards in Pokémon Sword.
- Normal League Card
- "Given special attention from her parents, Bea trained hard with her partner Pokémon since a very young age. This has honed her judgment skills, and she is able to remain calm and collected even when facing dire situations in battle. This leads many to think she lacks emotion, but the truth seems to be that she doesn't want to show weakness. She is sometimes known to show her true feelings to her partner Pokémon during battles. She is secretly a huge fan of various sweets, and this has recently been found out by her fans. The additional attention has made enjoying sweets a little difficult."
- Rare League Card
- "In order to become strong, one must face opponents who are stronger than oneself. Even if defeat seems inevitable, Bea will still go all out and try to at least draw. It's possible that the strict (one might even say too strict) training from her stern parents has left a burden on young Bea, taking away her smile. So, who has seen Bea smile? Her family? Her Pokémon? Or maybe someone else entirely..."
Pokémon
Bea keeps her Pokémon in Ultra Balls.

In the anime
Main series
Bea made her main series debut in Solitary and Menacing!. She first battled the Karate Master at the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City and won. Soon after, she was challenged to a World Coronation Series battle by Ash and had a two-on-two battle with him. She used her Hawlucha and Grapploct to battle Farfetch'd and Riolu and emerged victorious without losing a single Pokémon, causing her rank to go up.
Bea reappeared in a flashback in Making Battles in the Sand!.

Character
Bea has a strong personality, and she hates losing.

In Chomp!! It's Dracovish, it was revealed that Bea had battled Marnie and lost to her, despite the type advantage her Pokémon had against Marnie's Morpeko.
