==Trivia== | |||
* Elio is the only main character who has never appeared in an event story without his opposite-gender counterpart.
* Elio and Selene are one of two pairs of protagonists where it is unkown which one is based on the player character from their games of origin, the other being Chase and Elaine.
* In the story event Galar's Poké Ball Enthusiast, it is confirmed that Elio knows that Kukui is the Masked Royal.
** This was first implied in the Countdown 2021 log-in bonus, where Elio starts to address the Masked Royal as "Professor" before catching himself.
* In the Eevee Day Celebration! event Eevee Day Celebration!, Elio reveals that he first met his Espeon as an Eevee near Paniola Town.
* All versions of Elio use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Selene, Hau, Lillie, Gladion, Hala, Olivia, Nanu, Hapu, and Kukui (but not the Masked Royal).
** Elio also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Selene, Hau, or Gladion in the same team.
* The types of the sync pairs Elio forms with his Pokémon are identical to Flint's weaknesses in the Sinnoh Challenge: Water, Psychic, and Rock.
===Origin=== | |||
Elio's design is based on his appearance in Sun and Moon. Popplio is one of the first partner Pokémon of Alola in the core series games. Popplio, Brionne, and Primarina's Dex entries come from Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
Elio's Espeon may be based on the Eevee that can be obtained from an unnamed Pokémon Breeder at Paniola Ranch. Espeon is also known as the category, which matches Elio's name origin of Helios, the Greek god of the sun, as well as Elio being one of the potential main characters of Pokémon Sun. Espeon's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
Elio's Alt outfit design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Stakataka is one of the Ultra Beasts, which is caught by the player during the post-game of Pokémon Ultra Moon. In addition, Elio's Sun owns a Stakataka. Stakataka's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.

Description | This Trainer loves Pokémon and adventure. He continues to train in the Alola island challenge, and his skills have even gained him recognition from Professor Kukui. |
Elio (Japanese: ヨウ Yō) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. Traded away
In the costume event New Heroes Are Born, Selene reveals that she obtained her Scizor on Pasio by trading one of her Pokémon for Elio's Scyther, which was holding a Metal Coat during the trade, causing her to evolve. It is unknown what Pokémon Selene traded to Elio in exchange.

Trivia
- Elio is the only main character who has never appeared in an event story without his opposite-gender counterpart.
- Elio and Selene are one of two pairs of protagonists where it is unkown which one is based on the player character from their games of origin, the other being Chase and Elaine.
- In the story event Galar's Poké Ball Enthusiast, it is confirmed that Elio knows that Professor Kukui is the Masked Royal.
- This was first implied in the Countdown 2021 log-in bonus, where Elio starts to address the Masked Royal as "Professor" before catching himself.
- In the Eevee Day Celebration! event Eevee Tales, Elio reveals that he first met his Espeon as an Eevee near Paniola Town.
- All versions of Elio use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Selene, Hau, Lillie, Gladion, Hala, Olivia, Nanu, Hapu, and Professor Kukui (but not the Masked Royal).
- Elio also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Selene, Hau, or Gladion in the same team.
- The types of the sync pairs Elio forms with his Pokémon are identical to Flint's weaknesses in the Sinnoh Challenge: Water, Psychic, and Rock.
Origin
Elio's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Popplio is one of the first partner Pokémon of Alola in the core series games. Popplio, Brionne, and Primarina's Dex entries come from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
Elio's Espeon may be based on the Eevee that can be obtained from an unnamed Pokémon Breeder at Paniola Ranch. Espeon is also known as the Sun Pokémon, which matches Elio's name origin of Helios, the Greek god of the sun, as well as Elio being one of the potential main characters of Pokémon Sun.
In addition, Elio's Elio's Pokémon Adventures counterpart owns a Stakataka. Stakataka's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
