Kali (Japanese: キリカ Kirika) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. She forms a sync pair with Azumarill. The sync pair can be obtained through the story event Gather Up! Dream Duo!.

• Kali is the first playable character based on a generic non-playable Trainer class from the core series to be based on an actual character from the core series games.
• Kali and Azumarill being released for the 2023 New Year's event may reference 2023 being the Year of the Rabbit, as Azumarill is known as the Aqua Rabbit Pokémon.

Origin

Kali's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon X and Y, which, in turn, is based on one of the four possible appearances of the Furisode Girl Trainer class from the aforementioned games. Kali uses an Azumarill during the battle against her at the Laverre Gym. Azumarill's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ruby and Omega Ruby.
