Description | The leader of the evil Team Galactic. Believing the human spirit to be incomplete, he's trying to create a new world. Calm and logical, he's highly trusted by his subordinates. |
Cyrus (Japanese: アカギ Akagi) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series. He forms a sync pair with Palkia. This sync pair was first made available on August 17, 2020. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX from January 13, 2022, which unlocks Cyrus's EX style. However, unlike most sync pairs, this pair cannot be upgraded with Champion Spirits—only Custom Legendary Spirits from the villain event Dreams of the Void can be used.
Cyrus is also available in his sygna suit, forming a sync pair with Darkrai. This sync pair is available through a limited Poké Fair sync pair scout and was first made available on February 10, 2022. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX, which unlocks Sygna Suit Cyrus's EX style.

Trivia
- Cyrus is from the alternate universe where his plan succeeded, which was introduced in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, as Cyrus has never heard of the Distortion World despite Cynthia saying that Cyrus was defeated there. Cyrus also said that he was about to use Dialga and Palkia to remake the world when he was interrupted by Hoopa's ring.
- The whereabouts of Cyrus from this game's continuity are currently unknown.
- In his default outfit, Cyrus is one of the few sync pairs with less than seven dialogues in the Pokémon Center, with only three.
- Sygna Suit Cyrus & Darkrai were the first 5★ fair-exclusive Dark-type sync pair.
- Sygna Suit Cyrus & Darkrai were the first sygna suit sync pair with a Mythical Pokémon.
- Cyrus was the first character in Pokémon Masters EX to form a sync pair with both a Legendary Pokémon and a Mythical Pokémon.
- All versions of Cyrus use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Cynthia and Giovanni.
- Cyrus also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Cynthia in the same team.
- Cyrus is the only character to have a special voice-over line for teaming up with a character who has special voice-over lines but not have a special voice-over line for winning a battle with them. Giovanni has special voice-over lines, but not with Cyrus.
Origin
Cyrus's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Cyrus briefly controls Palkia during the climax of Pokémon Pearl and Platinum. An alternate version of Cyrus also uses a Palkia in Pokémon Ultra Moon. Palkia's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Pearl.
While Cyrus is not seen owning a Darkrai in the core series games, it parallels Dawn's sygna suit partner, Cresselia, which Darkrai has a shared history with. Darkrai's Dex entry comes from Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.
