Description | This Trainer is from Sandgem Town in the Sinnoh region. With a kind soul and strong sense of justice, he’s also an assistant to Professor Rowan, the authority on Pokémon Evolution. |
Lucas (Japanese: コウキ Kouki) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. He forms a sync pair with Dialga. The sync pair can be obtained through a limited Poké Fair sync pair scout, and was first available on January 13, 2022. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX, which unlocks Lucas's EX style.
Lucas also forms a sync pair with his Flareon. This pair could be obtained through a limited variety sync pair scout and was first available on November 21, 2022. This pair could be raised to 6★ EX beginning on March 29, 2023, though this pair lacks an EX style.

History
Lucas has experienced similar events to his core series counterpart as the NPC character. He grew up in Sandgem Town and later became Professor Rowan's assistant. While on his journey, Lucas became friends with Dawn,[2] and caught an Infernape and a Eevee. Lucas's Eevee would later evolved into a Flareon because it admired Lucas's Infernape.[3]

Trivia
- Lucas is based on the NPC character from the Sinnoh-based games, as his character description mentions how he is Professor Rowan's assistant from Sandgem Town.
- Lucas's Pokémon Evolutions counterpart is depicted with an Infernape. Infernape is also Lucas's signature Pokémon if the player chooses Piplup as their first partner Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Origin
Lucas's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Dialga is a Legendary Pokémon that can be caught during the climax of Pokémon Diamond at Spear Pillar. In addition, Lucas's Pokémon Adventures counterpart teamed up with Dialga in the manga. Dialga's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Pearl.
Lucas's Flareon may be based on the Eevee that can be obtained from Bebe at Hearthome City. As Professor Rowan's assistant, Lucas uses a Flareon on his team when battling him in Sandgem Town after entering the Hall of Fame 10 times if the player chooses Chimchar as their first partner Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Flareon's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
