Generation II to IV
Generations II to IV
Fury Cutter starts out with a low base power of 10. Every time Fury Cutter is used successfully, its power will double. If Fury Cutter misses or the user is switched out, the power will reset to normal. After this attack has been used 5 times, the power will no longer increase, meaning Fury Cutter can reach a maximum base power of 160.
Fury Cutter starts with a base power of 10. Every time it is used successively, its power will double, up to a maximum of 160 (which is five consecutive turns). If Fury Cutter misses, the user is switched out, or the player uses an item, the power will reset to normal.

Fury Cutter can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 3 bonus appeal points if Swords Dance was used in the previous turn.

Generation V
Generation V
Fury Cutter now has a base power of 20, with the same maximum power of 160 as before. If another move is selected, Fury Cutter's Power will reset.
Fury Cutter's base power increased from 10 to 20, meaning that it takes four consecutive turns to reach the maximum power of 160. If another move is selected, its power will reset.

Generation VI
Generation VI onwards
Fury Cutter's power is changed from 20 to 40.
Fury Cutter's base power increased even further from 20 to 40, meaning that it takes three consecutive turns to reach the maximum power of 160. If used by a Pokémon with Sharpness as its Ability, its power is increased by 50%.

In-depth description
This move has a multiplier that starts at ×1, and after a sync pair connects with this move, this multiplier doubles for that specific pair to a maximum of ×8 (with four or more consecutive uses). However, if the same sync pair performs any other action (i.e., another move that the user's Trainer or Pokémon uses—or even a sync move) mid-succession or if this move misses, then this multiplier resets to ×1.

UNITE
In Pokémon UNITE, Fury Cutter is Crustle's second starting move. The user attacks once with his claws. Enemies hit by Fury Cutter receive a debuff that causes subsequent Fury Cutter attacks to deal 20% additional damage, with a maximum of two debuff stacks. Additional damage from this debuff is always rounded up. Fury Cutter can critically hit; however, the user's base critical hit chance is 0%. At level 6 this move is replaced by either Stealth Rock or X-Scissor.

Fury Cutter (Japanese: れんぞくぎり Consecutive Cut) is a damage-dealing Bug-type move introduced in Generation II. It was TM49 in Generation II.

Effect

Generations II to IV

Fury Cutter starts with a base power of 10. Every time it is used successively, its power will double, up to a maximum of 160 (which is five consecutive turns). If Fury Cutter misses, the user is switched out, or the player uses an item, the power will reset to normal.

Fury Cutter can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 3 bonus appeal points if Swords Dance was used in the previous turn.

Generation V

Fury Cutter's base power increased from 10 to 20, meaning that it takes four consecutive turns to reach the maximum power of 160. If another move is selected, its power will reset.

Generation VI onwards

Fury Cutter's base power increased even further from 20 to 40, meaning that it takes three consecutive turns to reach the maximum power of 160. If used by a Pokémon with Sharpness as its Ability, its power is increased by 50%.

Notes:

 • Description prior to Version 2.10.0 (from June 28, 2021): Its power increases when used in succession.
 • Description prior to Version 2.20.0 (from April 27, 2022): This move's power increases when used in succession.

In-depth description

This move has a multiplier that starts at ×1, and after a sync pair connects with this move, this multiplier doubles for that specific pair to a maximum of ×8 (with four or more consecutive uses).[1] However, if the same sync pair performs any other action (i.e., another move that the user's Trainer or Pokémon uses—or even a sync move) mid-succession or if this move misses, then this multiplier resets to ×1.

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Fury Cutter is Crustle's second starting move. The user attacks once with his claws. Enemies hit by Fury Cutter receive a debuff that causes subsequent Fury Cutter attacks to deal 20% additional damage, with a maximum of two debuff stacks. Additional damage from this debuff is always rounded up. Fury Cutter can critically hit; however, the user's base critical hit chance is 0%. At level 6 this move is replaced by either Stealth Rock or X-Scissor.
