Description Said to be the strongest Gym Leader in Galar, this Trainer has an easygoing personality that quickly changes to a fiery determination to win once he starts to battle.

Raihan (Japanese: キバナ Kibana) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. He forms a sync pair with Duraludon. The sync pair can be obtained through a limited sync pair scout and was first available on April 28, 2021. This pair is capable of being upgraded to Masters EX star.png 6★ EX since its release.

Raihan is also available in his Anniversary attire partnered alongside Flygon, which is capable of Dynamaxing. The pair could be obtained through a limited-time Poké Fair sync pair scout and was first available on March 4, 2022. This pair is also capable of being upgraded to Masters EX star.png 6★ EX since its release.

Raihan also forms a sync pair with his Gigalith. This pair can be obtained by reaching Friendship Level 100 with Raihan in the Trainer Lodge beginning on October 1, 2022. This pair could be raised to Masters EX star.png 6★ EX beginning on March 29, 2023, though this pair lacks an EX style.

Trivia

  • Raihan shares his Japanese voice actor, Kosuke Toriumi, with his counterpart from the Pokémon: Twilight Wings miniseries.
  • Raihan & Duraludon are the only sync pair with Gym Leader theme skill whose type doesn't match his specialty type. This pair's type is Steel, but Raihan specializes in the Dragon type.
  • All versions of Raihan use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon) and victory with them. Those Trainers include Gordie, Melony, Piers, Leon, Blue, and Lance.
  • In the Trainer Lodge, Raihan mentions that he took on the Gym Challenge for the first time at the same time as Leon, Sonia, and Nessa.

Origin

Raihan's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Duraludon is Raihan's signature Pokémon in the core series games. Duraludon's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Shield.

Gigalith is one of Raihan's lead Pokémon in the Gym battle against him in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Gigalith's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.

Flygon is one of the Pokémon that Raihan uses in the core series games. Flygon's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
