Champion of Pokémon League (Paldea)

Geeta (Japanese: オモダカ Omodaka) is the chairwoman of the Pokémon League in Paldea. She is Paldea's top Champion-ranked Trainer and is the chairwoman of the Academy's school board. She is the only character in the games to have the Trainer class Top Champion (Japanese: トップチャンピオン Top Champion).

In the core series

Famed across Paldea as La Primera, Geeta has a strong personality and a calm, pragmatic demeanor. She wants Trainers throughout the region to become stronger. Throughout the game, she is friendly toward the player. She encourages the player’s growth and even expresses interest in eventually recruiting them. She also encourages their friendly rivalry with Nemona. Nemona admires Geeta, who appears fond of her in turn. Geeta empathizes with Nemona’s desire to find a true rival that she doesn’t need to hold back with. This may be because Geeta admits that she herself is incapable of holding back in a battle.

Her strict management of the Gym Leaders working under her causes some of them to resent her. Katy, Ryme, Tulip, and Grusha have stated some discomfort towards her to varying degrees. Larry explicitly does not like her, with one of the reasons being that she does not allow him to specialize in Normal-types as an Elite Four member. Katy is dissatisfied with having to go easy on her opponents, with Geeta’s reasoning being that Katy's gym is closest to the academy and will be many students’ first major battle. Tulip, meanwhile, says that “That bewitching aura of hers overlaps too much with my own style.” Ryme is unhappy that Geeta sends the player to meet with her instead of meeting with her directly, though it is unknown what she usually thinks of Geeta. Rika, on the other hand, praises Geeta’s strength, saying that “You won’t find a mightier Champion.”

Geeta personally recruited the Elite Four. Geeta also designed the first floor of the academy, with a focus on filling it with books.

Victory Road

After the player has obtained all eight Gym Badges and defeated the Elite Four, they can battle Geeta, the Top Champion of Paldea's Pokémon League, on the building's rooftop. The player emerges as a Champion-ranked Trainer upon victory, while Geeta and the Elite Four members congratulate the player. Upon exiting the building, the player is greeted by Nemona, who excitedly asks the player whether they have become a Champion already, and she wants to immediately challenge them to battle, but Geeta stops her and advises her to find a more suitable battle field.

Post-game

Geeta also participates in the Academy Ace Tournament, appearing as the player's final opponent when it is held for the first time. She can be battled as a random opponent in subsequent Academy Ace Tournaments.

Quotes

Uva Academy/Naranja Academy
“Very well, Champion Nemona. I trust you to handle this in my stead.”
“I’m glad to hear it. Good day, then.”
“Oh—pardon me.”
After defeating [unknown] Gyms
“Pardon me. Hello.”
“You just defeated the Gym Leader, yes?”
“And your name is <player>, if I recall correctly…”
“Tell me, do you seek to become a Champion?”
Yes "Just what I hoped to hear. You have a rare talent, especially for your age."
“Aim high—greater heights are within your reach.”
“Oh, but I’ve gotten ahead of myself.”
“I am Geeta, chairwoman of the Pokémon League, the organization that runs these Gyms.”
“As you seem to be collecting Gym Badges, I suspect we’ll meet again down the line.”
“Until then, good day to you.”
After defeating [unknown] Gyms
“Another Gym Leader defeated. Well done.”
“Rika informed me that there was an unusual trainer worth keeping an eye on.”
“It seems she meant you. I’d guessed as much.”
“I had the pleasure of observing your last match. I was impressed by the fantastic skill you showed!”
“If you manage to keep your momentum and achieve Champion Rank…”
“I will be very interested in inviting you to the Pokémon League and—”
“How good to see you again, Champion Nemona. It has certainly been a while.”
“I do indeed hold that claim. Alongside my role as chairwoman of the Pokémon League, that is.”
“I’m not here to inspect the Gym. I’ve come to scout some rather promising young talent.”
“Haha. I suppose I’ll have to get in line.”
“One moment, please.”
“I would very much like to observe this match, if that is all right.”
“Thank you kindly. I’m already excited to see you two face off.”
“Let’s be on our way, then.”
“Yes. You must face the Pokémon League.”
“It is located ot the northwest of Mesagoza.”
“The Pokémon League is where Trainers are reborn as Champions—the greatest honor that they might dream of.”
“Excuse me one moment.”
“I believe <player>’s Pokémon may still be a little fatigued.”
“An amazing display of talent, even against one as skilled as Champion Nemona.”
“That was a splendid match. I enjoyed watching very much.”
“I agree. In fact, you should take this. Consider it an investment in your future.”
“If a Pokémon uses that move while Terastallized, the move’s type will change to the Tera Type of the Pokémon.”
“She shows you such support and friendship. Or perhaps…”
“Perhaps she hopes you truly might rival her?”
“No… I think it’s no mere hope. She seems to have complete faith that you will catch up to her.”
“At any rate, allow me to return you to the Gym where I found you.”
After defeating all Gyms
“Most impressive, <player>. A shining display of talent, I must admit.”
“Indeed.”
“Now that you’ve gathered eight Gym Badges… all that’s left is to take on the Pokémon League!”
“If you hope to stand alongside Nemona as a fellow Champion…”
“Head to the Pokémon League. That is where you can take on the Champion Assessment.”
“It’s unusual for me to see her so excited—though perhaps not for you.”
“She must really be happy that she finally has a friend who can keep pace with her own talents.”
“There’s a special kind of strength that can only be reached by competing with a good rival…”
“Count me among those eager to see how far you two can go!”
“In any case, I’ll be waiting for you at the Pokémon League, northwest of Mesagoza.”
Outside the Pokémon League
“Hello, <player>.”
“So this is it… You’ve decided to face the Pokémon League.”
“The final test you must pass to become a Champion… is held here in this building.”
“I wish you the best of luck from the bottom of my heart, <player>.”
“I look forward to meeting you again soon.”
Before Champion Battle
“Welcome, <player>.”
“It gives me great joy that you’ve managed to make it all the way to the pinnacle of the Pokémon League.”
“The final test is a battle against me, the Top Champion.”
“To pass, all you need to do… is win.”
“But before we get started, I should apologize for one thing.”
“You see, I have a trait that some might say is inappropriate for the League Chairwoman…”
“I am utterly incapable of holding back when it comes to Pokémon battles.”
“Maybe that’s why nobody’s passed this test recently. It’s a bit of a problem, to be honest.”
“But you… You might manage something wonderful, like Champion Nemona did.”
“So, are you ready for your final test?”
“I want to see the true measure of your talent!”
During Champion Battle
“I do hope you can defeat me and become a Champion yourself.”
“Yes, that was the correct decision in this situation. Please continue.”
“You go beyond my imagination so easily…”
After Champion Battle
“Such overwhelming power… Such amazing skill…”
“It seems Paldea has gained another wonderful Trainer to be proud of.”
“Congratulations. It’s my honor to call you Champion <player>.”
“You Pokémon trainers are the treasure of Paldea.”
“And amid that treasure, Champions are the jewels that shine brightest.”
“Champion <player>…”
“It is now your duty to set an example for all of the Trainers of Paldea.”
“Now, allow me to walk you back to the entrance.”
“I’m certain you’ll find a familiar face awaiting you.”
“Do wait a moment, Champion Nemona.”
“The Champion Assessment has only just ended. I believe a rest is in order for Champion <player>, [lead Pokémon], and the others.”
“Champions must be understanding toward their opponents.”
“I also must ask—is this roadside really the setting you two want for your first battle as true equals and rivals?”
“Surely there’s somewhere more fitting. A place with special meaning for the two of you, perhaps.”
The Treasure Eatery “The Treasure Eatery? Is it significant to the two of you somehow?” Larry might not appreciate the surprise visit. If you’ve any other suitable places in mind, would you prioritize them instead, please?”
“The respect you two share is palpable. Even a bit enviable, to be honest.”
“I am known as La Primera—but even when facing me in the final test of her Champion Assessment, Champion Nemona didn’t reveal her full might.”
“In you, I suspect she has found someone she can battle without holding anything back.”
After completing the main plot
“The Pokémon League will, of course, happily lend a hand in organizing this contest.”
“I do everything in my power to nurture young, up-and-coming talent.”
“Though that’s not to say only the youth have promise when it comes to Pokémon battles.”
“A former Gym Leader… The developer of the Pokédex app… This academy clearly counts many skilled trainers of Pokémon among its staff.”
“As such, my suggestion is as follows…”
“Students AND staff should compete for the title of strongest Trainer at the academy!”
“Thank you for the invitation, Champion Nemona.”
“I would gladly take up your kind offer to compete alongside you all, but…”
“I’m afraid my schedule is already packed tight with work that I simply must attend to.”
“Well… I suppose I might be able to participate if Champion <player> would agree to lend me a hand with my work…?”
“Excellent answer. Much obliged, Champion <player>.”
“To get straight to it, I would like you to go out and inspect Paldea’s various Gyms in my stead.”
“Are they fulfilling their duties as beacons of strength and inspiration for all those aiming to achieve Champion Rank?”
“Or has their brilliance started to fade?”
“To find this out, I ask that you bring your full might as Champion to bear against each of the Gym Leaders and test their prowess in battle.”
“They are all Trainers of exceptional talent, handpicked by me personally.”
“I do not expect you’ll find any cracks in their armor, but…well. Consider it a formality.”
“This will also provide the perfect stage for your first appearance as a new Champion.”
“Since all the Gym Leaders will still be expecting me to carry out the inspection, I imagine they’ll have mustered their full strength.”
“I daresay they might be more of a challenge than when you faced them before.”
“Now then, on to another crucial matter.”
“I’d like to discuss with Penny here how to patch the weaknesses in our League Point system.”
“Thank you in advance for your willing and eager cooperation.”
“Excellent. We’ll leave you all to it, then. Come now, Penny.”
After completing all Gym rematches
“Hello. Am I speaking to Champion <player>?”
“This is Geeta. How is your inspection of the Gyms going?”
I'm done with them all. “You’ve done a wonderful job. Thank you.”
“I was informed by each of the Gym Leaders that you stopped by to see them.”
“I knew giving you this task was the right decision, Champion <player>.”
“All of them seemed quite happy for the opportunity to battle you.”
“Now, I would like the inspection report from you in person.”
“Join me at the academy in the entrance hall.”
“I’ll be waiting for you there.”
Uva Academy/Naranja Academy
“Good day, Champion <player>.”
“Now, tell me… What do you think of our entrance hall? Do you enjoy being surrounded by books?”
I love it! “That’s good to hear. It was renovated a few years ago, and I was the one who came up with the new design!”
“But more importantly, I would very much like to hear your report on the Gym Leaders!”
“Ah, now that I think about it, this location is perhaps a little too…public.”
“Do you know of anywhere quiet where we might be able to discuss things a bit more discreetly?”
“So this is the dorm room where you live.”
“I wonder, is this room what helped nurture your potential as a Champion?”
“Ah, wait, I remember now. You only recently moved into the dormitories.”
“In the near future, perhaps I’ll pay your family’s home a visit, if I may…”
“Anyway, let us get to the topic at hand.”
“I would very much like to hear your report now that you’ve inspected the Gym Leaders.”
“Tell me… Which Gym Leader did you feel was the easiest to face in battle?”
“Next, which Gym Leader left the strongest impression on you?”
“Then…which Gym Leader gave you the most trouble during battle?”
“Next is the last, most important question.”
“Which Gym Leader did you like the most?”
“Those are all the questions I have. Thank you very much for your help on this.”
“Your perspective was fascinating, Champion <player>.”
“I have no doubt it will assist me when running the organization. Please accept this as thanks.”
“Thanks to you, my schedule has cleared up quite significantly…”
“So I will most definitely be joining the tournament we discussed in the director’s office.”
“I’m sure Champion Nemona will be pleased, too.”
“Well, thanks for letting me visit. I should get back to work now.”
“You must be tired. I suggest you take it easy for the rest of the day.”
Before Academy Ace Tournament Battle
“Good Day, Champion <player>.”
“I had a feeling I would meet you in the finals.”
“Honed strength against honed strength…”
“Such a clash is what captures the crowd…and makes their hearts race.”
“This is extremely close to what I would call my ideal world.”
“As the chairperson for both the Pokémon League and the academy…”
“I find this situation to be incredibly satisfying.”
“Now, if we both push each other to greater heights, we will achieve greater synergy.”
“Come, Champion <player>! Our battle will inspire all those who watch us today!”
“Let me show you the full might of the Top Champion!”
During Academy Ace Tournament Battle
“Let us set an example for everyone, you and I.”
“We’ll make this match a fitting one for the finale. A grand spectacle!”
“I see you haven’t been slacking off. You’re an inspiration to all Champions of Paldea.”
“May you shine as brightly as the future of Paldea, Glimmora!”
“The future of Paldea is bright indeed.”
After Academy Ace Tournament Battle
“The friendly rivalry of the Trainers… The cheering and encouragement from the crowd…”
“I feel like these are the perfect ingredients for the academy—no, for the whole Paldea region to become more lively and energized!”
“Champion <player> was far stronger today than when he/she took the Pokémon League’s final test…”
“It is clear that he/she strives to become better every day, even after reaching such an esteemed rank!”
“It is my sincere hope that all Paldea’s people will be inspired not just by him/her but by every Trainer gathered here who aimed for new heights…and that the seeds for many more future Champions will be sown!”
“I eagerly await news of all your achievements!”
