Charge Beam (Japanese: チャージビーム Charge Beam) is a damage-dealing Electric-type move introduced in Generation IV. It was TM57 from Generation IV to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as well as Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. It is TM023 in Generation IX.

Effect

Generation IV

Charge Beam deals damage and has a 70% chance of raising the user's Special Attack by one stage.

Generation V to VIII

Due to a glitch, if the user has Serene Grace and is under the effect of rainbow from combination of Fire Pledge and Water Pledge, the additional effect chance is calculated as 280%, which overflows[1] and becomes 24%.

Charge Beam can also be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, with the user gaining an extra three appeal points if the move Charge was used in the prior turn.
