Scald (Japanese: ねっとう Boiling Water) is a damage-dealing Water-type move introduced in Generation V. It was TM55 from Generation V to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, TM29 in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, TR84 in Pokémon Sword and Shield, and TM49 in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. In Generation IX, it is one of the signature moves of Volcanion.

Effect

Generation V

Scald inflicts damage and has a 30% chance of burning the target. Upon execution, Scald will thaw the user if frozen (even if the move fails to hit the target).

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Scald is Slowbro's first move. It is obtained by evolving from Slowpoke at level 4 and upgrading Water Gun into it instead of Surf. The user fires a stream of boiling water, damaging enemies hit; creating a cloud of steam at the location of the first enemy hit, which slows and applies burn to all enemies inside. At level 11, the size of the steam cloud increases.

MDGtI It damages an enemy. It could also cause the Burn status condition. With the Burn status, the enemy keeps taking damage and its Attack also goes down slightly.
SMD It damages an enemy. It could also leave the enemy with a burn. It will thaw a frozen Pokémon.
