===History=== | |||
Dawn has experienced similar events to her core series counterpart as the player character. She grew up in Twinleaf Town and became friends with Barry, who would later become her rival. While on her journey, Dawn would battle Trainers, participate in contests, and disband Team Galactic. During her journey, Dawn caught a Turtwig, and a Plant Cloak Wormadam. She would later go on and chase Cresselia all over Sinnoh until she caught it.
After her journey in Sinnoh, Dawn would catch a Alcremie, and a Sensu Style Oricorio.

Description | This friendly and upbeat Trainer packs quite a punch, thanks to her travels in Sinnoh. Despite her skill as a Trainer, she can be a little scatterbrained at times. |
Dawn (Japanese: ヒカリ Hikari) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. She forms a sync pair with Turtwig and its evolutions, Grotle and Torterra. The sync pair can be obtained through the sync pair scout, starting from May 28, 2020. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX from December 7, 2020, which unlocks Dawn's EX style.
Dawn is also available in her Palentine's attire partnered alongside Alcremie. The pair could be obtained through a limited-time seasonal sync pair scout and was first available on February 1, 2021. This pair is also capable of being upgraded to 6★ EX from the time the pair was first released.
Dawn is also available in her sygna suit, forming a sync pair with Cresselia. This sync pair is available through a limited Poké Fair sync pair scout and was first made available on February 14, 2022. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX, which unlocks Dawn's EX style.
Dawn is also available in her New Year's attire, partnered with Sensu Style Oricorio. This sync pair is available through a limited seasonal sync pair scout and was first made available on January 1, 2023. This pair can also be upgraded to 6★ EX since its release.
Dawn also forms a sync pair with her Plant Cloak Wormadam. This pair can be obtained by reaching Friendship Level 100 with Dawn in the Trainer Lodge beginning on January 1, 2023. This pair could be raised to 6★ EX beginning on March 29, 2023, though this pair lacks an EX style.

History
Dawn has experienced similar events to her core series counterpart as the player character. She grew up in Twinleaf Town and became friends with Barry,[3] who would later become her rival. While on her journey, Dawn would battle Trainers, participate in contests, and disband Team Galactic.[4] During her journey, Dawn caught a Turtwig, and a Plant Cloak Wormadam. She would later go on and chase Cresselia all over Sinnoh until she caught it.[5]
After her journey in Sinnoh, Dawn would catch a Alcremie, and a Sensu Style Oricorio.
Turtwig → Grotle → Torterra
Turtwig can evolve into Grotle once it has reached level 30 through its sync pair story Turtwig's Evolution, and then into Torterra once it has reached level 45 through its sync pair story Grotle's Evolution.

Dawn (New Year's 2023)
Trivia
- Dawn is based on the player character of the Sinnoh-based games, as she mentions growing up in Twinleaf Town, and as noted in her character description, her mom is a Pokémon Coordinator.
- Since version 2.5.0, Dawn's line for using a sync move changed from "Ready or not, here we come!" to "We're gonna win!"
- Prior to version 2.17.0, Dawn (Palentine's 2021) exclusively used the same voice lines as her regular counterpart. She shares these qualities with Serena (Palentine's 2021).
- Dawn mentions that she captured her Cresselia in Sinnoh, after chasing her throughout the region. This a reference to Cresselia being a roaming Pokémon in the Sinnoh-based games.
- All versions of Dawn use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Lucas, Barry, Cynthia, and Looker.
- Dawn also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Cynthia or Looker in the same team.
- Dawn's New Year outfit is based on traditional clothes from Johto.[6]
- On release, Dawn & Wormadam had various errors that were corrected upon the release of version 2.30.0:
- Their sync move was referred to as "Plant Power Bug Impact", despite being a Special move. This was corrected to "Plant Power Bug Beam".
- A tile on their sync grid, "Struggle Bug: On a Roll 4", was redundant. It was replaced with "Struggle Bug: Satisfied Snicker 4".
Origin
Dawn's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Turtwig is one of the first partner Pokémon of Sinnoh in the core series games. As Professor Rowan's assistant, Turtwig and its evolutions are Dawn's signature Pokémon if the player chooses Chimchar as their first partner Pokémon in the Sinnoh-based core series games. In addition, Dawn's Pokémon Adventures counterpart gave Diamond his Turtwig and temporarily uses him when he was a Torterra during the manga. Turtwig and Torterra's Dex entries come from Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, and Grotle's from Pokémon Diamond.
Dawn uses a Plant Cloak Wormadam on her team as Professor Rowan's assistant when battling her in Sandgem Town during the post-game if the player chooses Turtwig as their first partner Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Wormadam's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Pearl.
Dawn is not seen to own an Alcremie outside this game. Alcremie's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Sword.
Cresselia is a roaming Legendary Pokémon the player can catch in the Sinnoh-based games. In addition, Dawn's Pokémon Adventures counterpart temporarily uses Palmer's Cresselia during the manga. It also parallels Cyrus's sygna suit partner, Darkrai, which Cresselia has a shared history with. Cresselia's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
Dawn is not seen to own an Oricorio outside this game. Sensu Style Oricorio's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
