Description | This Champion of Sinnoh is an archeologist who researches the history and mythology of Pokémon. Her deep love for Pokémon sent her on an adventure when she was young. |
Cynthia (Japanese: シロナ Shirona) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. She forms a sync pair with Garchomp, which is capable of Mega Evolving. The sync pair can be obtained through limited-time sync pair scouts, first available on January 1, 2020. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX from November 23, 2020, which unlocks Cynthia's EX style.
Cynthia is also available in her sygna suit, alongside her sync pair Kommo-o. The sync pair can be obtained through a limited sync pair scout, and was first available on August 17, 2020. This pair is also capable of being upgraded to 6★ EX from February 22, 2021.
Cynthia is also available in her renegade sygna suit, alongside her sync pair Giratina. The sync pair can be obtained through a limited Master Fair sync pair scout, and was first available on December 27, 2021. This pair is also capable of being upgraded to 6★ EX from when it was released.
Cynthia also forms a sync pair with her West Sea Gastrodon. This sync pair can be obtained by reaching Friendship Level 100 with Cynthia in the Trainer Lodge. This pair could be raised to 6★ EX beginning on March 29, 2023, though this pair lacks an EX style.
Cynthia is also available in her aura sygna suit, alongside her partner Lucario. The sync pair can be obtained through a limited Master Fair sync pair scout, and was first made available on August 30, 2022. This pair is also capable of being upgraded to 6★ EX from when it was released.
Cynthia also appears in her arc suit, again forming a sync pair with her Garchomp. This pair was first made available through an Arc Suit Fair sync pair scout beginning on August 28, 2024. This pair can be raised to 6★ EX since it first released.

Trivia

- Cynthia & Garchomp were the first fair-exclusive Ground-type sync pair.
- In her sygna suit's sync pair story, Cynthia reveals that she raised her Kommo-o from an Egg she received in Alola.

- Cynthia was the first Trainer to have more than one sygna suit.
- She is also the only Trainer to have three: regular, Renegade, and Aura.
- Sygna Suit Cynthia (Renegade) & Giratina are the first sync pair that can create type-based zones.

- Cynthia is the first Trainer to form more than one Master Fair-exclusive sync pair.
- Sygna Suit Cynthia (Aura) & Lucario are the first sygna suit sync pair with a buddy move.
- All versions of Cynthia use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Lucas, Dawn, Cyrus, Professor Oak, Lenora, Caitlin, Diantha, Professor Sycamore, and Volo.
- Cynthia also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Dawn, Cyrus, Lenora, Caitlin, Diantha, Professor Sycamore, or Volo in the same team.
- Cynthia & Garchomp were the first sync pair to have their sync grid expanded on three separate occasions after their initial release.
- Sygna Suit Cynthia & Kommo-o have the record for the shortest amount of time between receiving separate sync grid expansions, with only nine days separating their vertical expansion (January 16, 2024) and their horizontal expansion (January 25, 2024).
- Cynthia is the first Trainer to wear an arc suit, to be made exclusive to Arc Suit Fair scouts, and to form two separate sync pairs with the same Pokémon.
Origin
Cynthia's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Garchomp is Cynthia's signature Pokémon in the core series games, with her being able to Mega Evolve her Garchomp in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. Garchomp's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
Cynthia uses West Sea Gastrodon in her battle against the player in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Gastrodon's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
Cynthia does not own a Kommo-o in the core series games. Kommo-o's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
While Cynthia does not own a Giratina in the core series games, it is tied to the mythology of Sinnoh that she studies as a profession. In addition, she and the player encounter one in the Distortion World in Pokémon Platinum. Giratina's Dex entry comes from Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.
Cynthia uses Lucario in all battles against her in the core series games, with her being able to Mega Evolve her Lucario in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. Lucario's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
